Ecological Footprint

Walking in the snow. Following Mr. Bowie’s ecological footprints wil guide me home and ignite my bones. Giant steps are what he takes. Paws they hardly touch the ground. I hope my legs don’t break.

Enjoy this cold day, my friends, wherever you are. Peace, love and understanding.

  1. Mr. Bowie leaves some impressive footprints, Herman! Stay warm and and dry, both of you, and drink plenty of espresso with that dark chocolate. Fresh catnip for Mr. Bowie. 🙂

It is cold and snowy here too.

    • Hi Lavinia! Mr. Bowie must be very patient if he wants fresh catnip. All his plants died last summer due to the heat. I will fix this problem immediately in the spring! 😉
Hope you’re having a wonderful day. Stay warm, my friend!

  2. Does he shake his little feet to get the snow off after his walk? We’re expecting some snow tomorrow night. I’m not excited. I’m ready to plant the garden, but oh dear, it’s only February. Each day, one day closer to spring and summer. 🙂 Stay cosy my friend. 🙂

    • Hahaha… yes, he does that when he’s coming back inside! So funny to see…
I fully agree with you, counting the days to spring and summer… But hey, it’s just around the corner, kinda… 😉
      Stay warm, my friend!

  3. A mountain lion wouldn’t have made more impressive tracks! Good job, Mr. Bowie. No sales agent will dare to come close to your house. Enjoy your hot chocolate and snacks – you are safe.

    • Sales agents at my door… Oh how I hate that, especially in the evening… But right now we will follow your advice and go for the hot chocolate!
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday, Inese!

  4. Love the photo – footprints in the snow – sign that there’s a cat on patrol! Teddy avoided the snow for several days then decided to be brave but did that “one step then shake paw” thing all the way around the yard. The snow left behind mud which he enjoyed (unfortunately!). We expect more snow tonight and next couple of days but are prepared – lots of chocolate treats, hot cider and espresso for ME and fleecy blankets for Teddy. You guys stay WARM and cozy!

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy

  5. Lovely free form poetry Herman, to go with that lovely image of little cat feet. I just checked the weather and there is an advisory for freezing rain and ice. We are all longing for spring. Cloud sits at the window bench and loudly miaows for me to open the window and I have to tell him it’s too cold. Every couple of weeks we have a warm day and it fools him into thinking it will be like that from now on. Very cruel to disappoint a cat. I am going to follow your example and stave off at least my own disappointment with a hot chocolate. Please stay warm, both you and Mr. Bowie..

    • Hi Angela! It’s sometimes so hard and difficult to explain a certain situation to a cat… Wish we could talk to each other like human beings… 😉
I still don’t understand why Mr. Bowie loves to walk and play in the snow. I prefer to stay indoors and enjoy my hot chocolate or espresso.
Let’s count the days to spring and stay warm!

      • Mr. Bowie was an Olympic skier in a former life. When I could still ski winter was a different matter. Now you just see crossed of days on the calendar.

  6. Awww, look at those cute little paw prints I bet your paws were cold by the time you got back inside. No snow here…we have had a cold rain all day. Hugs and nose kisses

  7. Mr. Bowie, you are very brave. Mom opened the door for us and we just looked outside. The problem is that there is white stuff all over the place!!! It’s really deep, too. We decided our paws would be happier staying inside. We salute you, Mr. Bowie!
    Stereo purrs……….Hemingway and Steinbeck

    • I can see you both are very wise and clever cats, my friends! I just don’t understand why Mr. Bowie loves walking and playing in the snow… I prefer to stay inside, just like you…
Please stay warm, my furry friends! Mr. Bowie says “Meow!” and sends his regards!

  8. Mr. Bowie is brave to put his little paws in the cold snow! He needs some boots, although being a cat servant I have a feeling that wouldn’t go over too well with him! You would look awfully cute though Mr. Bowie.

    • Oh yes, I’m sure Mr. Bowie would look very cute with a pair of handsome snow boots on his paws. But he doesn’t like to be touched on his paws so…

  9. This weather is madness. Look at your little toes getting cold!!! Currently, we’re in Maui and it’s pretty cool. Some locals say, they’ve never seen it so cool here. Even snow in higher elevations!! I think, “great, what timing!” LOL.
When we left Edmonton it was – 35 C. It’s snowing like crazy in Ottawa, Canada and I’ve just seen, a major snow storm in progress in Seattle, Washington, USA. Honestly, it’s messed up!
Keep safe, warm and indoors my friends. Who knows where the wind blows….. xb

    • Hi Boomdee! Looks like you’re having an exciting time out there in Maui!
When I was young I was having romantic thoughts about going to live in Canada, the nature, the wild, the openness. But thank goodness I stayed in Europe; temperatures of -35º C…!! No can do! 🙂
The last days we’re having temperatures of 18º C, in February. Normally they should be below 10 degrees. Nature is acting very, very weird lately…

Hope you’re having great holidays, my friend!

  10. Why everyone is always so excited about the possibility of finding “bigfoot,” I don’t know.
Your photo above shows, without a doubt that ‘littlefoot’ exists and is alive and well.
I’m glad Mr. Bowie’s footptrints led you safely home.

    • Hi Mary! You are so right… why go in to the troubles of trying to find Bigfoot? I’m so happy with my Littlefoot keeping me company!
Hope you’re having a wonderful day!

  11. Or, perhaps Mr. Bowie was tracking you and you going around in circles?

At least both of you found the way indoors, out of the cold and to have treats in front of a roaring fireplace.

    🙂

    • Hi David! Thank you for explaining this issue; now I know why it took so long to get back inside… 😉
Thank goodness the snow is gone and we’re having warmer sunny days. It looks like spring is just around the corner…

      • No taste of spring this week in Colorado. A lull in the snow, plenty of fog, this morning before the snow restarts later in the afternoon. Added to the snow will be a week’s worth of bitter cold. 😦

          • Will do, Herman. I’ll be heading over to the barn in a few minutes to ready the horses and the barns cats for the overnight. They have a heated barn that keeps them warm. 🙂

  12. Nice! I let Gibbs out on the patio after one of our many snowfalls this winter and he didn’t seem to like it too much. I think the snow was too deep for him. He’s been happy to stay indoors. 🙂

    • Hi Mary. It looks like Mr. Gibbs is a very wise cat and I’m happy too if I can stay indoors… 😉
So weird Mr. Bowie loves to be outside in the snow…
