Coolest Jobs in the World

Think about it. Some of the coolest careers also rank among the world’s rarest jobs. In life, we often say cats have the most important job in the world. Except for one of the most popular jobs in the US of A, and probably in some other parts of the world.

Mr. Bowie, a well known studio technician, loves his job. He sets up and adjusts synthesizers, microphones and headsets in recording booths, operates mixers and audio control panels, and advises performers on how to adjust their vocals. Don’t underestimate the value of an excellent studio technician. So I don’t complain when he’s sleeping on the job. On the other hand, I call myself a rock musician and my music is inspired by Kraftwerk, the pre-1980 Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode and Trent Reznor. There must be something wrong with the volume, the tempo or the bass…

Enjoy this beautiful day, my friends, wherever you are. Peace, love and understanding.

    • Hi Kokodynia! Thank you for making me see the ‘sleeping on the job issue’ in another way.
Have a nice weekend! Mr. Bowie says “Meow!”

    • Thank you so much, my dear friends.

I wish you a safe journey that is filled with love and hope, my dear Sammy. I’m so happy to call you my friend. You will be forever in my heart.
Sending you warm hugs and love, my dear Pam and Sammy. Mr. Bowie says “Meow!” and sends hugs.

  1. Mr. M here. I am an author’s muse and assure you that if/when we cats appear to be napping, we are actually hard at work creating. (It is very common for humans to misunderstand this vital facet of creativity._

  2. Mr. Bowie is hard at work listening, even though the rest of the body may not look that way. It is wonderful to have a studio technician with such fine ears! 🙂

Have a great weekend, Herman and Mr. Bowie, and a big “Meow” from all the cats and crew here!

    • Well, I guess I must be very lucky with such a talented studio technician supporting me.

Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend, Lavinia! Now he’s awake, Mr. Bowie sends his regards to all the cats and crew of the Salmon Brook Farms.

  3. Cats really want to work, Mr. Bowie is very skilled. Our Kosmo is taking care of our house and he is also in charge of fireplaces. After having warm flames in a fireplace, he also likes to sleep by the fire, by his work.
    Have a nice weekend!
    Kristiina

    • Hi Kristiina! We are so lucky to have such wise and smart cats covering our backs… What would we do without them?
      Have a marvellous weekend!

    • Thank you, Angela! The progress of bringing some of my music (on SoundCloud) goes very slow, unfortunately. Still working to fix some minor issues…
      Have a nice weekend!

      • I understand about technical difficulties. Today WordPress would not obey. Published draft notes, refused to upload media, and in general sabotaged my post which i hope will go up soon.

        • There seems to be a lot of things wrong with WP lately… I don’t receive mails from multiple blogs I’m following (via the email notifications from WP).

  4. Mr. Bowie is a very wise cat ( as most cats are, I would say), he knows when to stop and rejuvenate his energy and meditate, that’s what he is teaching you, So he actually is YOUR master! As a hard working technician there is a lot of responsibility on his shoulders. Just give a raise for god’s sake!

    • Hi Cornelia! You are so right, cats are very wise… And you are right about the second thing: Mr. Bowie deserves a raise or at least some extra treats and nip!

  5. I wish I was as awesome at guitar as your technician is at sleeping, dang I’d be good! Shhhhhh….don’t wake Mr Bowie, he’s got to be frisky for the next session xo B

    • Hi there, Boomdee! Well, I can always use a good guitar player for a recording session any time. And during the breaks you could talk to my furry studio technician… and have a good espresso with chocolate (and treats for Mr. Bowie)!

    • Thank you! Well, we all know you can’t underestimate a cat so I think they all realise how cool they really are…!!
Mr. Bowie says “Meow!” Have a nice weekend!

  6. What a talented cat…send Mr. Bowie over to my house. I have a microphone, music stand, and some rather primitive recording equipment. I have no mixer so getting the right balance is a chore.
On second thought though, maybe it’s not a good idea. I don’t know if Mr. Bowie and my 2 cats would be able to get along. Cats often have a hard time accepting strangers (who could be competition).

    • I would love to send Mr. Bowie over for a musical job. But you are right, Mr. B doesn’t like to be disturb while he’s doing his tech job… 😉

  7. Enjoyed reading this!
I’m a Alternative music blogger based in India, fairly new to WordPress. My latest blogpost is about Royal Blood, the new heavy rock duo who have been applauded by the legend Jimmy Page himself, they have opened for Foo Fighters and Arctic Monkeys are big supporters of this act. Rock riffs haven’t sounded this good since the 00s.

    Rock has been saved, again.

Do check it out and my other related articles too and feel free to comment and share your views.

    • Hi there! Welcome on HoB and thanks for visiting the blog. Glad you liked this post.
Royal Blood are very ‘hot’ and popular in this part of the world. They’re performing live next Friday at Rock Werchter.
