I love Levi’s 501 jeans. The original button fly jeans. The only brand I wear. These are the real jeans that look like Levi’s from the 60’s. But I hate the feel of new, raw, stiff hard jeans. It’s so uncomfortable. Apparently Mr. Bowie doesn’t share my view on new jeans.

I agree with him Lovely Mr.Bowie… For you, there is one thing only, the magic or fabric… maybe its pattern, or maybe its smell… All I can understand that you really love your human 🙂 Thank you, but we love too. Nia
Thank you for explaining this situation, Nia! Mr. Bowie says “Meow!”
You are welcome Dear Herman, I think I can understand the cats 🙂 Love, nia

It’s good to have someone who can break the jeans in for you!
Oh yes! What would I do without Mr. Bowie? I would be lost…
I wanted to like all the comments here…very witty. These jeans got the Mr. Bowie seal of approval…does that change your mind at all?
Oh thank you, SueD51! I’m always waiting for Mr. Bowie’s approval on things in my life…
Mr Bowie is spreading the love of his fur across your jeans.
Nothing can beat a Mr. Bowie’s customised jeans!

Mr. Bowie says “Meow!”
Oh yes, Levi Strauss. They used to employ quite a number of Edmontonian’s in a plant here, which was one of the last ones to close in North America. They bought out a company called GWC. I wondered about the dates, and found this interesting article on a Google search:
http://www.royalalbertamuseum.ca/exhibits/online/GWG/en/history
The original building they occupied back in 1911 still stands and is actually not too far from my house since we live very close to downtown.
So I feel even more connected to Mr Bowie this morning. x B
Good morning, my dear Boomdee! Thank you for this interesting comment. Now go get yourself a delicious (N)espresso!
I’m on it already, having a double this morning with frothed milk. Delish! It’s my jet fuel for work….blastoff!
Go get them, Boomdee! Have a nice day!
And if they are fresh out of the dryer…even better!
Oh yes! I love the feeling of a warm jeans on a cold winter’s day…
Bo loves sitting in the square cubby we have for scarfs, hats, mittens, etc. All cats have their spot! 😉 Ellie
Mr. Bowie also likes to sleep in the bathtub…
Cute photo 🙂
Thank you!
He’s helping break them in.
And giving them different shades of grey (fur)…
“Hot Pants” from Mr Bowie’s hot body and 501 shades of gray hairs from him lying on your new jeans, breaking them in for you.
Again, this sounds like a new song…
You have all kinds of “that’s like totally hairy man” material to work with 😉
If they just came out of the dryer, he likes them nice and warm too, and is keeping them warm for you. How helpful of you, Mr. Bowie.
Well, we all know he takes good care of me…
😉
Mr. Bowie is enjoying sharing something you like. He is also marking them so other cats know you belong to him! Mr. Bowie is a very responsible cat, and watches out for his human. 🙂

HaHa! I remember my brother standing them up in our yard as he hosed them in an attempt to soften them. Mr Bowie looks quite comfortable.
Haha! Glad to see I’m not the only one having this problem… Mr. Bowie seems to like stiff and hard jeans…
Absolutely gorgeous photo!

Mr. Bowie says “Meow!”
Sharing his love!
Well, some guys have all the luck…
It seems like most of us readers agree that Mr.Bowie is warming up and pressing your new 501s, he might even have a new job description ” The Iron Cat”. Wishing you both a pleasant and delicious New Year of 2016 wrapped in chocolate. Moshu and Cornelia
Thank you, Cornelia and Moshu! Wishing you a very Happy New Year and a fantastic start in 2016!
Iron Cat Mr. Bowie says “Meow!” to Moshu.
I think Levi’s made changes in sourcing their denim stock several years ago. At least, that’s what I read.
Besides, no article of clothing can be broken in without having some fur deposited on it. 🙂
Having some fur deposited on my clothes…?? The story of my life!
Happy New Year, David! Thank you for hanging around all this time!
It just needs some hair on it. 😉
Thank you for making me look at this in an other way… 😉
Hehe 😉
Mr. Bowie wouldn’t sit on any other jeans. He has class.
No doubt about that!
501s. I was so tall and thin as a teenager that men’s 501s were the only jeans long enough for me. I used to struggle with those darn buttons because they were opposite of women’s buttons. Ah, the memories. Now I just dress my husband in them. Like you, they are the only kind he has worn since we got married. Because they are perfect.
Haha… the buttons! I can imagine it was difficult. I prefer the buttons, don’t like zippers. And like you said, 501’s are just perfect.
Obviously Mr. Bowie is trying to help break them in for you. Letting him sleep on them for a couple of weeks should do the trick. 🙂
Thank you so much for this advice, my friend! I’ll keep it in mind…
