SETI

Sweet investigator. The search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) is a collective term for scientific searches for intelligent extraterrestrial life, for example, monitoring electromagnetic waves for signs of transmissions from civilisations on other planets. Many radio frequencies penetrate Earth’s atmosphere quite well, and this led to cats investigate the cosmos using large radio antennas. But often, the investigators fall asleep. This post is based on a Wikipedia article.

Enjoy this beautiful day, my friends, wherever you are. Peace, love and understanding.

  1. Cat labor is not the most reliable. I hadn’t thought about SETI in a long time. A long time ago we would donate CPU time at night for SETI to do processing.

    • Oh yes, I remember those days well and donated a lot of my CPU time too. But I never got a call from ET…

      • I’ve never been called directly, but many strange things happen in my neck of the woods. Paranormal activity and extraterrestrials abound out here.

        • It sounds like you’re living in Nevada (instead of New Mexico), home of Area 51! I would love to pay that place a visit and turn the secret army base inside out…

  2. And this is further proof that all cats are controlled by a mysterious, invisible Mothership. We think they’re chipped for security but in fact it’s so that they can receive the “Go crazy at 3am” messages, amongst others. 🛸 👽 🐈

  3. Of course…Wikipedia is a source of information that we all know and trust!
I’m sure Bowie is still protecting us all by closely monitoring the workings of the entire universe (now without the need for an earthly antenna). Nice to know someone is out there searching for intelligent extraterrestrial life. Maybe one of those advanced beings can help us with all of the problems on this planet.
Sigh. I live in Texas and they are telling us to stay home again–Just when we starting to feel like ‘Normal,’ everything went backwards.

    • Hi Mary. I often wonder, especially after watching a scifi movie, how we would explain all the problems, wars and abuses here on earth to an alien. If I was an alien, I would avoid paying planet earth a visit… 😉
Over here, life is heading to a more normal direction. But we still have to follow a lot of measures and safety rules.

    • I don’t think we could justify or explain all the abuses, problems and wars here on earth to a visitor from outer space… They would better avoid paying us a visit…

  4. The 🐱 looks like it’s using a Theremin for communique. We poor cats 😎 only got a Reasons Essentials PropellerHead program using a Moppeltron VST. Washe cat is in contact 24/7 😸

    • Well, to be honest, I’m using a Theremin sample library instead of the real thing. It’s way easier to play… 😉
And yes, I do believe all cats are secretly connected with each other all over the world… One day soon they will take over the world!

    • Oh no… Cats must first find a way to exterminate behavior-altering parasites that have taken over the bodies of residents of Deneva, a Federation colony.
In the meantime, beam me over for an espresso, Kelly!

  5. Herman I have often looked at my cats as aliens. I certainly consider them intelligent but they see, hear, taste and smell the world in a way we can never experience. I think they spend a lot of time wondering about our intelligence. I remember the scene in the first Alien movie when the cat and the alien encounter each other in the cargo bay. The alien made no move on the cat. Professional courtesy?

    • Hi Angela. I’m sure the alien knew he had to leave the cat alone. Jones, the cat, would have kicked his ass back into space!
My mother named her last cat Jones because so also loved the movie.

      Jones 1994-2012

I’m sure cats are very wise and clever, a lot of people underestimate this.

        • She was such a sweet girl. She was waiting for me almost every evening when I got home from work. Every evening for almost 18 years…

      • Thanks for the link Herman. That was well before I found your blog. Your mother had good taste in movies and a beautiful cat, who from the look of him, lived up to his name.

        • Thank you so much for your kind comment, Angela. Jones and Mr. Bowie are still my 2 favourite cats of my live. But I love all cats, actually…
My mother loved to watch scifi movies and series with me. She was a big Star Trek fan (all the series), but didn’t like the Star War movies.

  6. No matter the assignment, Feline’s can never manage to see it through prior to falling asleep on the job! MOL! XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

    • Well, I truly believe humans should also have the permission to fall asleep for a short periode while they are doing their jobs… Thank goodness I can do that on my job! 😉

  7. Looks like Jimi is exhausted in his search for life “out there”…..maybe on behalf of all cats he’s looking for some response from Planet Meow which – as we all know – is where these aliens we have adopted into our homes are from. Ever wonder why they STARE at us all the time? It’s like a long-distance Vulcan mind-meld. HAHA Have some chocolate and just relax. These little aliens seem pretty friendly to me.

Hugs, Pam (and my alien Teddy)

  8. This belongs to the same system I read. When a cat is sleeping on his back paws up and slowly moving them, he is contacting the mothership behind the moon. It looks like a cat is sleeping, like Jimi in the pic, but he has a contact to the other world.

    • We better watch out… Soon they will take over planet Earth and we will be their slaves! But wait a minute… actually we are already their slaves… 😉

    • Hi Lavinia. I believe it’s better we don’t know what the cats secretly are planning. But I’m sure one day they will rule the wold… 😉

Thank you for the wishes. Hope you’re having a wonderfulp weekend too, my dear friend! Jimi sends his regards (via his antenna) to all the cats from the Farm.

  9. Jimi is such a good boy and will gladly take on any project you need him to, as long as he can have naps and treats…..as needed. Have a lovely weekend Herman. 🙂

    • It would be nice if Jimi would give me a paw in the studio. Right now he’s waiting in the kitchen to join me for vanilla ice cream. That’s a good way to get the weekend started…
Wishing you a wonderful weekend too, my dear friend!

      • It was our Independence Day, and cause for big celebration, tho it felt like it was different this year. Celebrating is hard when there’s so much wrong around you. Jimi is doing his job…..reminding you when it’s time for ice cream! I hope you both enjoyed that. 🙂

        • Yes, these are strange times indeed. I wonder how long it will take before everything feels back normal…
And yes, we both enjoyed our vanilla ice cream!

    • So true! You can never underestimate a cat… They are very, very wise animals.
Hope you’re having a great weekend!

    • Hahaha… you’re probably right. I should ask that question too, when I’m going to bed. Maybe it helps me to fall asleep faster…

  10. Cats have succeeded in world domination- they figured out long ago they were too superior to do certain work in the world, it would interrupt their naps so they bestowed such activities upon the human slave. No matter where we are, what we do or not do, what choice we make a cat has likely engineered, encouraged, influenced or demanded it.

    • Thank you so much for explaining what life is all about. A lot of people don’t realise that cats are controlling their lives… They make our world a better place.
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!
