Snow! The horror… the horror! This morning, a cold snap resulted in several disruptions on the roads and rail way networks in this part of the world. I had to drive through the snow to see if my Dad was alright. We had lunch together and watched Bear Grylls on tv. I picked up some good advice to get back home safe.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bowie’s wondering what the white stuff is doing in his garden. And why he has to stay inside…

We had our first snow yesterday too. Our indoor/outdoor cat Hiro was not pleased.
Actually, Mr. Bowie loves walking around in the snow. But I’m going to keep him inside due to his ear infection. His back on my bed taking a nap. Maybe I can join him… 😉
Good idea on that nap! Hiro goes out, looks at the snow, and looks back at me as if he is incredibly offended that I made all this white stuff fall. It’s too funny.
Haha… It’s always so funny to see an expression on a cat’s face… It always show what they mean or think!
Are you ever going to do your blog again about the fosters? I miss it.

At this time of the year we are on hiatus and not many fosters with us!
We had our first snow here too! It’s already melting but it was pretty while it was here……glad you visited your Dad and had no problems getting back home to Mr. Bowie. Teddy was fascinated by seeing his first snowfall…..! Stay safe and warm.

Herman we just got back from a drive in the country – stopped for a pumpkin spice latte’ and chocolate croissant on the way……it’s a beautiful day – cold and sunny and I’m going to TRY to see if Teddy wants to give snow another chance! Take care………… ❤

Looks cold. Happy to hear everyone is safe. It’s cold here, but sunny and dry. Friday morning it was so cold our water lines were frozen. Fortunately, the water to my darkroom wasn’t frozen, so I was able to make coffee. Could you image waking up with no water and no way to make coffee? We have a private well, and a portion of the water line under the house is exposed, so it’s had heat tape and insulation on it that has worked well for the past 34 years. I figured the heat tape gave out. I crawled under the house to check in out and discovered Spunk and company had been clawing in the pipe insulation (dense foam which Spunk loves to tear up), and exposed sections of the pipe. The heat tape can’t heat the pipe well enough without the insulation. I spend most of Friday under the house, on my belly, in the dirt replacing insulation and making it so the cats can’t claw it off. Needless to say, the kitties were very exited to have me “playing” under the house with them.
Our water was out this morning, a bad capacitor in the control box.
Seems like a less labor intensive fix.

I can picture the scene of you and the cat crew under the house. I’m sure you all had a lot of fun out there. It sounds like I have the same kind of insulation around my water pipes but Mr. Bowie leaves them alone.

Yesterday I woke up to the same shock. From your photo I would say we got about the same amount. Nonetheless I bundled up and went to my Saturday of volunteering help at the thrift shop which supports animal rescue (especially cats). We had very few customers because it continued to snow most of the day but as a result we we able to rearrange things in our tiny shop to showcase the Christmas things and indeed that was what we sold. Driving home was not so bad since there had been enough people out to clear the roads and the snow had stopped. Today is sunny but still pretty cold. My cats have no desire to be anywhere but in their warm beds and blankets and Miss Dolly is the only one not sleeping right now. She says to tell Mr. Bowie “Hello”

Herman, my father’s family is French Canadian. I was raised to deal with serious snow. My only concern in snowy weather is the driver’s not raised to it
So true. That’s why I try not to use my car when it’s snowing. Too many dangerous drivers on the road… 😉
Sunday Snowday just means staying inside, wrapped in fleece and treats at hand. Best advice for driving in snow – stay away from other drivers. 🙂

Hi Mary! Bear Grylls was on tv with a survival trip somewhere in Mexico. I’m not a fan of his shows but my Dad enjoyed it.
We are not used having hard winters in this part of the world, especially the snowfall. So a lot of people start to panic when they see first snow of the year… 😉
Mr. Bowie loves the snow and always wants to get outside when it snowing…

How nice to have a white Christmas, although I wouldn’t be too keen about driving in the snow. Meanwhile, we are swimming and eating ice cream and the cats have taken to sleeping on the floor to keep cool. We do have air con, though, so they are pretty comfortable!!

We’ve had a mild season here so far. I put the shorts away too soon! Oh well. My kitty boys love to watch the snow, but Dougy is the only one that wants to go outside in it. Of course, once he realizes (again) that it is just another form of water, he definitely stays away from it. (I don’t let him outside except for a short look at the snow. Too close to major roads where we live….)

Yes the snow is here. Where I live we got anywhere from 5 to 7 inches of the white stuff. I made a snow angel by accident. Let me explain. While shoveling snow I slipped and fell backwards over the bank. No wings on my snow angel though. I had hoped we didn’t get that much snow. I would be happy with 80 degrees and no humidity and plenty of snow. Have fun with the snow Mr. Bowie. Liked your post on snow. I am so agreeable with you when you say Snow oh the horror!!🙂>””<🙂

My cats were not that fond of snow either, Mr. Bowie. One time, Keona snuck outside and then he couldn’t wait to sneak back inside. He couldn’t shake that cold, yucky stuff off of his paws!!
