Wild is the wind. I just realised I didn’t write a post this month. Shame on me… So here’s a quick note. I’m ok, and Jimi’s ok. We’re both enjoying the first warm sunny days in spring. Unfortunately, snow is predicted for tomorrow and it’s no April Fool’s joke.
“I’m fixing a hole where the rain gets in. And stops my mind from wandering. Where it will go…” – The Beatles
In February two storms passed over Europe, Eunice and Franklin. I had some minor damage on the roof and a few weeks ago a team of experienced roofers came to fix the problem. Thank goodness we had a devoted supervisor on the site.
Enjoy this beautiful day, my friends, wherever you are. Peace, love and understanding.
Lucky timing and an expert snoopervisor.
Yes! I could stay inside and have a coffee. Jimi had everything under control outside…
😂
You cannot do a job properly without a cat to supervise!
So true! You can stay inside and have a coffee while the supervisor keeps an eye on the project…
Good work, Jimi. After a few years of very little precipitation, the sun cracked some patches on our roof. I had some leaks from the recent snows. I was up on the roof Monday patching old sun cracked patches. So much fun.
Just wondering, did you had the company of a qualified supervisor?
The kitty supervisors could see me from the high perches in the catio. But I had no direct supervision while I was on the roof.
They probably trusted you for this job…
I appreciate your confidence.
My pleasure, Tim!
When I saw the title, that old Beatles song started playing in my mind. 🙂 Jimi looks like an excellent supervisor, Herman.
The cherry tree garden daffodils are up and blooming.
Hi Lavinia. Always love to hear how the cherry tree garden is doing! It gives me a warm feeling each time you’re mentioning it. Thank you so much, my dear friend!
What a beautiful supervisor.
Thank you so much, Janet! Glad you liked the post!
Aww we just had similar repairs done and Jimi makes a wonderful supervisor!
I hope there was also an experienced supervisor on your site…
Oh yes! Eivor and Pearl kept a rota of supervisory duties! 🐾💛🐾
And afterwards hopefully extra treats…?? 😉
Absolutely! 😃

Glad you liked this post, my friends! Just when I thought spring arrived, there’s that snow again… Cold is only good in ice cream! 😉
Jimi sends his regards! Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
OOPS on the roof repairs but those two storms really were “mean” and lots of people had issues over there – glad you two are OK. Jimi was keeping a close eye on the repair team so no doubt things were PERFECTLY done! Does he get a bonus???? Nice to hear from you Herman……..
Hugs, Pam and Teddy too
Hi Pam. Of course, Jimi was payed with extra treats afterwards! You have to keep your furry friend happy!
Glad you liked this post, Pam. Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Jimi sends his regards!
I’m hoping it snows today just so that I can say “Sometimes it snows in April …” 💜💜💜
What a coincidence… First song on the radio after the morning news (today) was Prince… The DJ said he just couldn’t resist playing this song.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
Bon week-end à vous aussi! I don’t suppose Seigneur will be outside if it snows?
Merci bien! Jimi stayed outside for 45 minutes, chasing tiny snowflakes. But right now he’s back inside waiting for a treat…
I would feel uncomfortable trying to take on a task without Andrew the Persian kitty boy making sure I did it right! I’m sure Jimi assured the best quality work, too, or he would have stopped the process and made them redo the work!
It’s always very handy to have a furry supervisor keeping an eye on difficult projects. We would be lost without them…
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, Doug!
Same to you, Herman! My supervisor, Andy, expects kitty treats and toy play during my breaks.
Thanks, Doug! Treats for Andy & Jimi…
By the handful. Well within reason!
Bagheera and I send hugs to you and Jimi. Happy that the roof is patched and you are both safe. We too have snow and wish for warmer days…and continue to pray and advocate for peace 🇺🇦
Hi Christine. Jimi was chasing tiny snowflakes this morning. Thank goodness the snow is already gone now in the afternoon. Please, let spring come back to this garden…
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, my dear friend! Jimi sends his regards!
PS: thank you so much for the tweet!
Good job, Jimi! I hope it will be fair weather for a while now. Sending purrs from my little friends.
Thank you so much, my friend! Glad you liked the post.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Jimi sends his regards!
We only have snow every few years, and when we do, everything shuts down. Always good to have a dependable supervisor when having repairs done.
Hi Patrica. We had almost no snow today, thank goodness. Jimi chased some tiny snow flakes but we couldn’t make a snowman… 😉
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
What could we do without our precious inspectors? I am certain Jimi did a great job. He’s a dear little fellow.
Hi Micheline. We are indeed very lucky to have such sweet furry inspectors by our sides! Afterward, Jimi got some extra treats.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, Micheline!
I enjoy hearing about Jimi. I am interested in his little life. He is beautiful and I have grown to love him.
Thank you so much, Micheline!
Jimi is a very serious inspector. Wonderful kitten 🙂
Thank you so much, France! Glad you liked this post.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Jimi sends his regards!
How would anything get done without Jimi in charge?
So true! Glad you liked this post.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, my friend!
I am sure Jimi knew where the hole was at and supervised its repair.
Hi Greg. Oh yes, he was the right cat at the right place doing a great job.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
Keep up the good work, Jimi!
Thank you so much! Glad you liked this post.
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!
How did I miss this, here I am late to respond to you. It’s great that so many things at your house have a good supervisor to are sure things go really well. 👍. Enjoy your spring, your favorite season.
I’m very happy to have such a good supervisor and thank goodness, he’s also my best friend keeping an eye on me! Glad you liked this post.
And as always, thank you so much for the tweet! Wishing you a great week ahead!
A great week for you too, and tweets, always!
Thank you very much!
Devoted and handsome! Good to have you back…
Thank you so much! Glad you liked the post.
Enjoyed reading your latest post about music and cats. This is the perfect combination for me…
Wishing you a great week ahead!
Hello friends ! I guess I wasn’t the only one wondering how you were 🙂 I have another friend in the Netherlands who’s house lost tiles in storms this winter. Some trees there also were up rooted! Wild European winter weather everywhere it seems. Jimi looks very much in control there :D, glad he has it all in hand. We had a cat, Ginger, who once climbed a ladder to our roof, then couldn’t come down. Oh the meowing was frantic, LOL. I hope that April snow melted and we’re all on our way to a lovely spring 💗 Have a beautiful week boys xK
Hi Kelly. Glad to see you again!
Jimi likes to keep an eye on everything what’s going on outside. It’s so obvious that he believes the garden is owned by him and I may use it occasionally. He loves it when I join him for an espresso outside. Thank goodness we’re heading for spring and summer. And ice cream of course… 😉
all the best with the repair.
Thank you so much! Good luck with moving to your new home!
Thanks very much
Gotta a fix those tears when they happen. Always important to have feline supervision.
I saw an episode of ST: Picard. You’re not missing much. It seems like the story writers are trying to stitch the loose threads of ST lore together and they’re not doing a very good job. If you remember, the Enterprise bridge in ST: Enterprise was more modern than the bridge in ST: TOS. At least they made no effort to explain it in the episodes.
Hi David. Oh yes, I’m very happy to have such a devoted supervisor taking care of things outside…
I watched the first season of Picard last year and it looked ‘so so’ (a Flemish expression) to me, a bit messy and predictical guest appearances of other characters from the past. Didn’t liked the story… I believe the second season is on air in the US of A?
Yes, the second season started. This time, Picard is trying to save time. He’s certainly no Jim Kirk saving humanity from itself. I also use ‘so so’ to describe things too.
I loved JL Picard in the Star Trek series. But I’m not getting excited about the new Picard series. I miss the magic from the original series…
Great to have a very handsome devoted supervisor on site!
Hi Julie. Yes, I’m very lucky to have such a sweet boy by my side… He also loves to join me when I’m having coffee in the garden.
Sometimes taking care of mundane things is a comfort in this crazy world. Enjoy sweet spring, whenever it arrives, as it’s the same here!
Hi Bernadette. Thank you so much for your comment. You are so right, it’s very hard to understand what’s going on in the world these days… All the crazy stuff keeps me awake at night…
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, my friend!
Herman, I hope you are doing well and have had better April weather than here. Winter keeps trying to hang on while I’m longing for spring days in the 50’s F (10C and above) so I can get on the bike or spend more time outside. I shouldn’t have “cabin fever” in April…right?
Hi Mary. Jimi and I are ok and enjoying a warm spring Sunday. It almost feels like it’s ice cream time… 😉
Glad we’re heading in the good direction and I’m looking forward to the summer.
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday, my dear friend! Jimi sends his regards!
I love that photo of Jimi. Glad to hear y’all are doing well.
Hi Jen. Thank you so much for your comment. Glad you liked this post and the photograph of my devoted supervisor.
Wishing you a great week ahead!
I love Jimi supervising. Are you due the heatwave they’ve been talking about us getting in the UK soon?
Hi Charlotte. Oh wow… already a heatwave in April? Time to buy some extra ice cream I guess… The temperatures stay just below 20°C in this part of the world. We already had coffee and ice cream outside. Jimi loves to stay outside in the garden. So glad we’re heading in the good direction…
Pleased to know you and Jimi are doing okay. Jimi is doing a great job supervising the roof repair!
Hi Jill. Thank you so much for stopping by! Hope you’re doing ok too…
Wishing you a wonderful Sunday. Jimi sends his regards!
THAT CAT REALLY NEEDED SOMETHING NEW
(a mostly true story)
‘If only I had something new,’
she thought, ‘something adventurous
to do, like when the fields grew tall
fields from which wild fowl fed and flew’;
she the feline feisty and precious
needed something new or to climb the wall.
She walked over to the window pane
and looked out to the neighboring homes
to where she hoped to find something
—something new, beyond the back lane
rocky road where she often roams
to where her eyes would be wandering.
And when her attention was caught
by the towering shingled roof
sheltering the large corner store
she at once decided she ought
to climb to its black peak as proof
of her worth to those who did her adore.
Through the yards one by one she went
glancing around this and that corner
over then under fences tall
till she stood at the wall she’d meant
to conquer as a foreigner
without any fear that she’d fall.
She looked to the two garbage cans
leaning against the wooden shed
right next to the store that was so pink;
up she jumped, her feet and hands
reached the top by but a thread
of no better place could she think.
Having achieved her noteworthy climb
she gazed over to the swaying trees
unaware that her hostess stood near;
at the bus stop as passed the time
the woman looked up into the breeze
and saw her black cat who knew no fear.
Thus the feline had done something new
and not seeing her hostess’s stare
she returned home fulfilled and content
for from this day excitement she drew
and she thought again she’d climb and dare
those high places worthy of her scent.
