It’s There!

No Jimi, I’m afraid I can’t believe you… Spring isn’t just around the corner. It’s still far, far away, to my great regret. Dark and cold days lie still ahead of us. The weather forecast predicts snow. Yes, snow! The horror… the horror!

Enjoy this beautiful day, my friends, wherever you are. Peace, love and understanding.

  1. always these confusions…also my kois in the pond are already awake these days, the emerging sun irritates, even if it’s actually much too early…nice weekend!!! Feel really better cause finally Biontech vaccinated, despite our horror Omicron quote in the north.

    • Talking about confusion… I was almost ready to have ice cream in the garden! 😉

I had my booster shot with Pfizer a few weeks ago. I wish this situation would finally get better. Two of my friends got infected and they were seriously ill.

    • Guess I only liked snow when I was a little boy, many many years ago… 😉
      Now I prefer shorts, a t-shirt and a swimming pool…

PS: let’s hope Jimi doesn’t turn into a snow leopard!

    • Hi Lavinia. Jimi was playing hide and seek while I was working in the garden. He’s such a sweet boy… But he went back inside before me because it’s was too cold and there was a cold wing blowing…

Halfway January…?? Thank you so much for this positive touch! 🙂

    • Hahaha… No, guess it was too cold to stay outside for a long time. Jimi preferred a warm couch near the fireplace…

  2. My heart is with Jimi. They are talking about a “bomb” storm in my region of the States later this month and I already had my Internet down for two days from wet snow. I’m so over winter and it’s barely started.

    • I’m already looking at the calendar each day to count the days before spring. Guess I only liked winter when I was a little boy many years ago… I even loved making a snowman!

    • Hi Hedy. My goodness, -37 degrees sounds really like the horror… the horror! 😉
Hope you’re having a good and warm weekend!

    • I can picture the scene. Glad the days are already getting (a little bit) longer… Looking forward to having ice cream outside in a sunny garden!

    • Bonjour France. Thank you so much for your kind comment and wishes!
Wishing you a safe, healthy and wonderful 2022, my friend! Jimi sends his regards!

    • Hi Christine! Bagheera made the right decision to stay inside on her soft blanket. Jimi always like to go outside, even on the cold days. Me, I prefer staying inside and have an espresso.
Thank you so much for your tweet!

  3. It’s a beautiful picture of Jimi. He’s not certain it will snow. It may snow, but spring will come. It always does. Jimi has round lovely cheeks and looks very healthy. He’s a darling.

    • Hi Micheline. Thank you so much for your kind comment! Glad you liked the photograph and the post. Jimi really looks so adorable in the photo. He’s such a sweet boy.
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend, my dear friend!

    • Hi Takami. Thank you so much for your kind comment and wishes. Hope you’re ok!
Wishing you a safe, healthy and wonderful 2022, my dear friend! Jimi sends his regards!

    • Thank you so much! Glad you liked this photograph and post!
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend, my friend!

  4. It has been several years since we have had snow. When it happens everything shuts down. I grew up in the Great Lakes snow belt region and when I moved south it amazed me how life outside of home stopped while there was snow. Only lasts a couple of days though and is kinda fun.
    Great picture of Jimi!

    • Hi Patricia. Glad you liked the photograph and post!
We had rather warm winters the last years with only a few weeks of snow. I remember when I was a kid we sometimes had snow for months. As a little boy I really liked it, probably because the schools had to close. Nowadays I don’t mind a warm winter without snowfall.

  5. Jimi looks like a conqueror up on those branches, I wonder what his view from there looks like. Hey Herman ice cream can be eaten any time , even in winter. When I was a kid, I used to lick on those icicles hanging from the roofs of houses, imaginining that it was ice cream. Take care and be happy my friend.

    • Hi Cornelia. Glad you liked the photograph of Jimi. Unfortunately, icicles doesn’t taste as good as real ice cream… 😉
And yes, I do like having ice cream during the winter too. I just love it all the time!
Stay safe and healthy, my friend!

  6. Jimi! Up in a tree keeping an eye on things in the garden…..well, we have nothing but snow everywhere so it’s nice to see some GREEN! We see no sign of Spring yet but we will be happy to have it…..I love Spring when things begin to get green again – I think everyone’s mood will be better too – Spring is HOPE…..and I think we all HOPE for happier days. Meanwhile there’s always CHOCOLATE!

    Hugs, Teddy and Pam

    • Hi Pam. Unfortunately, we didn’t see any signs of spring in this part of the world. Guess we have to be patient a little bit longer. I also love the first green signs in nature so much every year in the beginning of spring.
So yes, meanwhile we’ll find some comfort in chocolate and a good espresso.

Stay safe, healthy and warm, my dear friends! Jimi sends his regards!

  8. Hello Jimi! Hang in. Spring will come…eventually. My little gang of “walkers” are not impressed with the weather either. They go to the door and do a quick about face although poor Toby charged out this morning and skidded on the ice before he realized ice was falling from the sky. He ran quickly to the side door and ran in. We send many greeting to you from icy New York State.

    • Jimi returns sooner back inside when the temperature drops below 0 degrees Celsius. But he really loves to be outside, just like Mr. Bowie did. I prefer to stay indoors, especially in the morning, with a cup of coffee. But in the afternoon I normally go out for a walk in the nature or a forrest.

Stay safe, healthy and warm, my dear friends! Jimi sends his regards!

  9. Look at you high up in the tree! What fun you must have in dads beautiful garden 😀 As I type this, we are also getting more snow. I’ve lost count of how many days in a row, but I’m happy to share it, snicker! We’re on the way to a weather recovery of sorts. from the -30C’s to 5C on Wednesday. No joke, I predict some will break out flip-flops just to make a statement. The deep freeze was apparently sent via Siberia. If I wanted to live in Siberia, I would move. So thanks, no thanks to Siberia, LOL. Cuddle up boys 💗💗🥰 xK

    • Hi Kelly. I don’t want to picture that scene! It looks like you’re a prisoner in a Russian/Siberian gulag… My goodness, I would move to another place on the world immediately. We only had -5° Celsius so far and I hated those days. But if I’m honest, I prefer walking in the winter compared with my summer walks.
Meanwhile, Jimi’s chasing a pesky black bird this morning while it’s -1° C. Me, well, I’m inside with an espresso and dark chocolate…

Stay safe, healthy and warm, my dear friend! Jimi sends his regards!

  11. How is it that you still have green leaves on the trees? Or was this an earlier photo?
Here in Wisconsin, today’s wind chill is -20 to -25F (-29 to -32C). I would prefer snow at this point, but I suppose staying indoors means I may finally take down the Christmas decorations. Have a lovely day, Herman.

    • Wow…!! Mary, you deserve a special reward for your art of detection! No, the photo was shot a few days ago while I was working in the garden and Jimi was playing hide and seek. This tree has a special emotional meaning to me. It was the first tree planted on my property 30 years ago by my mother. It’s a Osmanthus, most of the species are native to eastern Asia and these trees are evergreen.
There are 20 trees on my property and with the exception of 2, they are all evergreen. Why? Seasonal affective disorder, SAD. When the landscape gardener designed the garden I only wanted evergreen plants and trees. That’s why my garden has a Japanese look, well kinda…

I removed the decoration last Friday. So I’m ready for spring to arrive…
Wishing you a safe, healthy and warm week, my dear friend! Jimi sends his regards to Mr. Gibbs!

  12. Sorry Jimi, Herman is right. We have some winter to go through. Is Jimi supposed to be so high up there? Stay warm and cozy, Herman. Eat some good chocolate and have some hot coffee.

    • It was the first time Jimi climbed in that tree. I was working in the garden and he was playing hide and seek. Mr. Bowie climbed this tree once or twice. This tree has a special emotional meaning to me. It was the first tree planted on my property 30 years ago by my mother.

Have a safe, healthy and warm week, my dear friend! I hope you got your paper and pencil ready to make new plans for your garden.

PS: thank you so much for the tweet!

  13. dood…..spring IZ just round de korner….sum times de korner iz a little long tho…but lotz oh napz and chocolate for dad will make that korner seem short 🙂 happee week two ewe both, stay healthee 🙂 ♥♥

    • Hi there, my friends. Thank you so much for this positive message! Comments like this one makes me feel good and warm on such cold days…
Wishing you a safe, healthy and warm week ahead with lots of tuna treats! Jimi sends his regards!

    • Hi Julie! Thank you so much for sharing your summer weather! Our days are getting longer so I’m a bit more positive. I’m looking forward to spring…
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday! Jimi sends his regards!

  14. I can see blue sky so it must be a nice day but very cold I imagine. I feel very excited when I get to experience snow as it’s such a novelty, but I can imagine living in it would be a very different thing! Mr Bowie loved the snow, didn’t he?

    • Hi Jill. No snow so far in this part of the world. Yes, Mr. Bowie loved snow and it was hards to keep him inside when it was snowing. I don’t know what Jimi actually would do when it’s snowing… But I’m looking forward to spring!
