CIS

Feeling like a fraud? Have you ever felt like you don’t belong? Like your friends are going to discover you’re a fraud? Research has shown that cats experience impostor feelings. Cat Impostor Syndrome (CIS) refers to an internal experience of believing that a cat is not as competent as other cats perceive the cat to be. While this definition is usually narrowly applied to intelligence and achievement, it has links to perfectionism and the social context.

Enjoy this beautiful day, my friends, wherever you are. Peace, love and understanding.

    • Thank you so much! Glad you liked this post. I was lucky that Jimi stayed for a few seconds in that spot…

  1. That’s a great photo of Jimi with the CIS invoking cat. Jimi has SCC (sensationally cool catness).

    • Hi M.B. I’m so glad Jimi finally feels safe and happy outside in the garden. I’m going to enjoy our time together outside this summer…

    • Hi Polly. Glad you liked the photograph. I had to react immediately to shoot this photo because I knew Jimi wouldn’t stay long in this position. I love this shot too…

  2. Jimi knows…because he’s a smart cat! Twilter has gone crazy and jumps around and won’t let me tweet, but I’ll catch up later. Have a good weekend!

    • No problemo and thank you so much! I’m so glad Jimi loves being outside. Last year he always seemed to be unsafe and scary but it probably took a while for him to get used to the garden.
Hope you’re having a great weekend. I just finished doing some work in the garden (removing some weeds).

    • It looks like you are completely right, Patricia. Glad you liked this post.
Wishing you a great weekend! Jimi sends his regards!

    • Hi Lavinia. Thanks for stopping on the blog and liking my post! Jimi fell asleep yesterday on my lap while I was sitting outside in the sun. That was for the first time… I was so happy about it!
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday, my dear friend! Jimi sends his regards!

  3. That’s quite a rare capture, Herman, how lucky that you had your I phone ready.
I never know how to post images from my I phone. Any advice there ?
It is so wonderful to see how Jimi is adjusting more and more to get used to HIS garden.
He is quite a poser, I think .

    • Hi Cornelia. Glad you liked this post!
I’m always dropping my iPhone photos in the ‘Photos’ app on the iMac. Normally I do some basic editing in Lightroom and that’s it.

I’m happy to see Jimi’s enjoying his time outside in the garden. Yesterday he fell asleep (30 minutes long) on my lap while I was sitting in the sun. That was such a wonderful moment!

    • Hi Pamela. I’m afraid this story is not true, I made this up after reading an article about the Impostor Syndrome (IS) and seeing this photograph of Jimi at the posture. My apologies.

    • Hi Jill. Glad you liked the photograph and post!
You are right, Jimi gained a little weight but he also grew a little bit over the year. He’s 2 years old so I guess he’s an adult cat now…
