First Snow/Last Snow

Finally, we’re heading to spring! The days are getting longer, yeah! I’ve got a good feeling about it. Last week, we had 2 days with light snow fall. Jimi was very interested in what was happening outside. I guess this was the first time in his life he actually saw snow. It reminds me of Mr. Bowie, he loved going outside and play in the snow. Feel free to go back in time and check out this post.

Meanwhile, European countries are on high alert as coronavirus (Covid-19) is spreading rapidly across the region. A few days ago, the government announced the first coronavirus case in my hometown. We have to be very careful at the moment.

Enjoy this beautiful day, my friends, wherever you are. Peace, love and understanding.

  1. What a wonderful flashback of Mr. Bowie – that face! Such a cute guy….and Jimi appears to be very curious about that white stuff falling in his yard. Let’s hope Spring IS on the way and that the coronavirus is contained…..meanwhile be careful – we are doing the same. Sending hugs and hopes for a cozy chocolate/espresso Sunday!

    • Hi Pam. Yes, Mr. Bowie looked so cute in the snow… I still miss him every day.
Just enjoyed 2 espressos this morning with chocolate. A great way to start the day…
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday, my friend!

      • I am having a sunny Sunday for a change….I just had a caramel latte and am about to take Teddy out in the yard for a bit. Mr. Bowie looked cute no matter WHERE he was – and Jimi looks quite fascinated with the rain although I’m sure he prefers being inside in the warm! Happy Sunday…………..

        Hugs, Pam

    • Hi Debra. Jimi is 18 months old so I guess this was his first snow. But I believe he’s ready to explore the garden soon… Just like me looking forward to having breakfast outside…

  2. Same in our area. I think we only had one or two days of snow. Lovely pic! 😀 And we had our first virus case in our town a few days ago too. Anyway, Happy Spring and be safe, both of you❗️

    • Hi Sir Albertus. I don’t like snow (and winter) so I’m glad we’re heading in the right direction of spring…
Stay safe and healthy, my friend!

  3. I love to see a kitty discover snow for the first time.

There’s a case of coronoavirus in the hospital where I was born, only two in the state at the moment but I’m glad to say my partner is geting a liberal option to tele-commute. I work from home anyway so I can avoid a lot of the places these things spread. Ugh.

  4. A late winter snow! Jimi looks fascinated by the snowfall outside his door. And I loved that old post with Mr. Bowie enjoying the snow, too.

Have a wonderful week ahead, Herman and Jimi!

    • Hi Lavinia. Mr. Bowie adored the snow and loved going outside to play in the snow. He was such a special boy, I still miss him a lot…

Wishing you a great week, my dear friend! Jimi sends his regards to all the cats of the farm!

  5. As we were not blogging in 2010, we had not seen the post with Mr. Bowie in the snow. Really loved seeing him. None of us like the snow. It is just too cold. We had a few snows this winter, but mostly rain. We can understand Jimi’s fascination. It is fun to watch the snow falling. Stay safe and healthy. • We had no real snow this winter. And the previous winter only 2 days of snow. But I don’t mind because I hate winter and snow too… Wish it was summer for 12 months…

  6. >>sniff<< I miss Mr. Bowie. But I'm happy Jimi has you, and that spring is on the way. I hope you and yours (everybody, but especially your dad) stay well.

    • Thank you so much for your kind words, my dear friend! I still miss Mr. Bowie every day and I’m often going back to see his older posts on the blog. But I’m happy to have Jimi by my side. He’s an adorable sweet little guy…

  7. Jimi, as in his young age, is probably wondering about that white stuff falling down, next winter he might discover the softness of that stuff.
May we all go through this Corona Virus in peace and awareness, without blaming or discriminating others. And may your father stay well. Wishing you a positive and healthy week.

    • Hi Cornelia. I always enjoyed seeing Mr. Bowie playing outside in the snow. I’m wondering how Jimi will react walking in snow… But we had no real snow the last 2 winters. Not that I’m complaining, though… 😉
I’m sure we’ll get safe through this coronavirus situation. It seems the local government got everything under control. But I’ll pay extra attention to keep my dad safe…

  8. We had a little fascination with snow when the cats were much younger, especially when the Musketeers were outdoor kittens at the time.

Stay away from those coughing and sneezing people now.

    • Hi David. Thank you for your kind comment. I have to keep an eye on my dad this week because his birthday is coming up tomorrow. Maybe it’s better to ask the visitors not to shake his hand? Meanwhile I read their are 2 more people infected with the coronavirus in my hometown…

    • Hendrix, because it’s also my second name! And I was wearing a Jimi Hendrix t-shirt the first day I met Jimi in the shelter.

  9. Look how much snow you got a decade ago compared to now!! We continue to get snow but the temps are becoming milder too. This virus, it’s cramping my style. We were to travel in May to America but I don’t want to go on a plane now. Take very good care and of your dad too. Peace out xK

    • Hi Kelly. I’ve got a bad feeling about this coronavirus situation. Let’s hope they get it under control real soon…
Thank goodness we’re heading to spring and warmer weather. That gives me some comfort in these strange days…

  10. Yaay spring! I know you aren’t ever happy about winter and soon you’ll be able to go out and sit in your beautiful garden, with Jimi, if he doesn’t try to find ways to escape. We have spring bulb flowers coming up everywhere and small buds forming on trees. Ahhh……enjoy your early spring.

    • That’s good news! I can see we’re heading in the right direction too in this part of the world. Looking forward to the warm sunny days!

    • Hi Julie. My Dad turned 95 last Wednesday. But we cancelled 2 birthday celebrations because it’s too dangerous due to the coronavirus situation. We try to keep him isolated and asked family and friends not to pay him a visit. Unfortunately, every day the coronavirus situation gets worse in this part of the world…
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!
