Unhappy Cat

Not at all happy about it! I sold a Roland synthesizer last week. There was nothing wrong with it but I wasn’t using it anymore. And I need space in the studio because I bought/ordered new (and exciting) equipment. I was happy to get a good price for the instrument.

Unfortunately, Jimi was very disappointed he couldn’t keep the original box. But don’t worry, my furry friend, you’re going to get a bigger box very soon…

Enjoy this beautiful day, my friends, wherever you are. Peace, love and understanding.

  1. Oh boy! A bigger box than that will be a wonderful place for Jimi to explore, hide, and nap. Can’t wait to see your “new toy”……how is the music coming along? Still waiting for a “sample” !

Hugs, Pam (and Teddy says hi to Jimi too!)

  2. Spunk feels your pain Jimi. Whenever the boxes get out of control in the dance room, I start breaking them down to put them out in our cardboard stash. The kitties, especially Spunk, get very upset that I’m breaking down their boxes. They will sit and lie on the pile of flattened boxes in a last ditch effort to keep me from taking them outside. It’s sad, but they get new boxes very soon, and I never break down all of the boxes. Our kitties universally favorite boxes are guitar boxes. I have to keep them around until they are almost completely flattened and shredded.

    • Hi Tim. I always keep a ‘back up’ box ready if one of the boxes are destroyed are needs to go to the trash. Jimi likes boxes but not as much as Mr. Bowie. Bowie loved all kinds of boxes. Jimi only prefers very big boxes…
But it’s always so funny to see how cats love boxes in all sizes…

    • Mr. Bowie liked all kinds of boxes. Jimi can sometimes ignore a box, especially the small ones. He prefers the big ones…

  3. Jimi will have a bigger box soon! We keep a few boxes about for our kitties, too. Eventually they get tired of the old boxes, and new ones soon arrive to brighten up their day.

Mr. Nano and crew send their regards to you and cousin Jimi. 🙂

    • Hi Lavinia. Mr. Bowie’s love for boxes was much greater. Jimi often just ignores the new boxes I bring home. But a big box is something he likes…

Jimi sends his regards to Mr. Nano and the Cat Crew. Wishing you a wonderful weekend, my dear friend!

    • We will both be very happy, I guess. Isn’t life grand for a cat and his human?
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, my dear friend!

      PS: thanks for the tweet!

          • I just have the plans made, and some seeds ordered….I have to grow some chicory, which is basically a weed here. But Geyri loves the blue flowers and he can have some of the leaves. Growing a weed for my lizard. A well trained human…..😊

            • Hahaha.. you are a very well trained human indeed!
I remember when I was a little child my parents used to go outside in the nature to find some chicory. My mother used it in the kitchen as a herb if I remember it right… I haven’t seen it for years, growing in the wild…

              • Herman it still grows wild here, out in the country. During the time of our great depression, people dug up and dried the roots and used it as a substitute for coffee, which was hard to get then.

                • My grandparents did the same thing during WW 2. Just checked some local websites and it seems you still can find this plant in the wild overhere…

  4. Jimi, bigger isn’t always better, but when it comes to boxes it is. Hope you get to keep the new one! XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

    • Hahaha… yes, you are so right! Bigger isn’t always better (especially for humans) but cats will enjoy bigger boxes for sure!
      Jimi sends his regards!

    • Haha… I used to have a fuzz box and a electric guitar too… I can’t remember what happened to that box. Probably sold it or gave it away (like my electric guitar).

    • Well, it’s going to be a lot bigger for sure. I’m going to keep you posted… but I’m already sure he’s going to like it!

  5. Haha, cats and boxes, and their preferences is often like a hit or miss. Yesterday I offered my cat Moshu a new box from an Amazon order, I filled it with catnip and Moshu gives me a look like ” Ghee , is that all” ? Have a wonderful weekend you both, with greetings from Moshu to Jimi, hej Jimi the bigger box is on it’s way.

    • Hi Cornelia. It’s always funny to see the unexpected reactions of a cat. They always keep surprising us. Mr. Bowie loved all the boxes, no matter what size. Jimi doesn’t show a lot of interest in boxes actually, kinda strange… But I’m very curious about how he’s going to react when he sees the new big box…
Wishing you a great weekend, my friend! Jimi sends his regards to Moshu!

  6. How exciting to be upgrading and expanding your music room Herman! Do you work with other musicians or orchestrate the magic on you own? Of course there’s you’re stellar producer Jimi on the sound knob 😀 Paws in the air ❤ xK

    • Hi Kelly. I’m still doing all the stuff on my own, (well, most of the time). But there are a lot of musicians in my circle of friends so if I need to add something special I can invite someone over to help me out… And Jimi is always also a good back up plan…
Hope you’re having a great weekend, my friend! Jimi sends his regards!

    • Cats and boxes are always a big succes. It’s always so funny to see how they enjoy getting in the box.
Hope you’re having a great weekend, Mary!

    • Hi Marina. It’s always so funny to see how cats jump into a box, no matter what size…
Hope you’re having a great weekend!

    • I’m sure Jimi will be very happy when he sees the new (big) box. And I’m going to be very happy with what’s inside…

    • Oh yes…!! You don’t have to buy expensive cat toys. A plain (free) box will do… Cats will always like a new box.

    • Hi Parker. Thank you so much for your kind comment!
Still waiting for the new synth to arrive. It could be weeks or months so I have to be very patient… But I’m sure Jimi will enjoy his new big box when it arrives. I’ll keep you posted.
Hope you’re having a great weekend!

    • Hi Julie. Glad you liked the post! It looks like Jimi has to wait until April for his new big box. I wish it would arrive sooner too…
Hope you’re having a great weekend!

    • Hi Yoshimi. Jimi was so disappointed he had to give up this beautiful box. But if he’s a little bit patient, the new bigger box will soon arrive…
And I have to be patient too… 😉

  7. Cats and their boxes. I swear, if we leave one around just a moment (the time it takes to remove the product inside and grab a sharp instrument to cut the tape) it becomes a cat box! We have at least two boxes right now that the cats LOVE!

    • Cats and boxes are always a big succes… I’m always having one box ready to keep the furry friend happy if needed. But I’ve noticed Jimi isn’t so wild about boxes like Mr. Bowie was.

        • Well, this means in the future, Jimi could be a box cat after all… All my previous cats loved boxes but Jimi isn’t much interested so far…

          • Our last cat loved boxes so I just figures “all” cats do, but it seemed like our two did not. But then one a box came in the house and every time we looked it seemed as if there was a cat in it. So . . . now we have boxes in the house. One cat likes the box with the bottom on the ground and the flaps up, the other cat like the bottom on the side with the flaps opening to the side. Could be that Jimi just want the box in a different orientation?

            • Oh yes…!! That’s a very good idea. I’m going to turn the box in different positions. I remember Mr. Bowie loved to get in a box that was turned upside down…

              • With our first cat I didn’t want to buy a cat tree/tower and be stuck with it . . . and my husband happen to work at a company that sold boxes. So once a month he would bring home a new box and we would take turns (one month his turn, the next month mine) cutting holes in the box to make a play-place for the cat. She would get a new play place every month. My hope was that it kept her entertained.

                • Looks like your cat was in a very good and happy place… I’ll keep my scissors ready for the next box that arrives…
