The Spirit of Mr. Bowie

Adapting to a new environment. Adjusting to a new home is never easy, but who is to say that it’s impossible? Jimi’s adjusting quickly to his new home. It almost seems an invisible force guides him, as if the spirit of Mr. Bowie guides Jimi in his new forever home. Sometimes I notice an astonishing resemblance with Mr. Bowie, but on other moments he reacts completely different. Well, I guess we have to get used to each other.

Meanwhile Jimi likes to keep me company while I’m working in the studio. He seems to like my musical projects but I had to turn down the volume. In fact, Jimi can complete a traineeship for the job of studio technician. He’s very interested in all the wires and cables and maybe he can hit some hot jazz notes too!

Enjoy this beautiful day, my friends, wherever you are. Peace, love and understanding.

  1. Music is in his name. Maybe he’ll do a cat song with you. That’s nice he’s interested in studio tech.

  2. Jimi is just so “at home” already and fitting into your schedule well isn’t he – there is no doubt in my mind that his guide Angel Bowie is right there with him, whispering in his ear. Glad he’s keeping you company while you work on your music!

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy

    • Hi Pam. Jimi is a bit ‘wilder’ and let’s hope he doesn’t turn into a wild predator… But he’s such a sweet boy!

      • I bet he’s excited – exploring new home, etc. Mr. Bowie was a cool cat right from the start wasn’t he. Jimi has had different experiences I guess that led him to you. He will “keep you on your toes” which is actually a GOOD thing! Teddy does that for us here – keeps things interesting……… LOL

        Hugs, Pam

        • It will take some time to get to know each other. Mr. B was taking it easy because he was 10 years old, Jimi is 1 year old and of course full of live… But I’m sure we will get along…

Hope you’re having a great day, Pam!

  3. Wonderful… But do you know, it takes a long time to get know each other in human world, but cats not like that… I mean it doesn’t take a long time… I am sure, he will be your musical assistant soon… Loved so much. Thank you dear Herman, have a nice day, Love, nia

    • Hi Nia. Thank you so much for your kind comment. So happy Jimi seems to like his new forever home. I’m sure we will get along fine…

    • There’s a guitar in my bedroom, unfortunately it’s an acoustic guitar and not a Fender Stratocaster like Jimi Hendrix used to play… But maybe he can give it a try! 😉

    • Hi Takami. So glad Jimi seems to like his new forever home. It will take some time to get used to each other but I’m sure we’ll get along just fine… I’m happy that I found this sweet boy…
Wishing you a great weekend, my friend!

  4. When the fiber optics cable was severed Tuesday, I had no Internet or television to take up my time. I caught up on reading and sleep, then I put some CDs on the player. Dougy doesn’t like the exotic late Ottoman Empire classical vocal music, but slept sweetly to Mozart clarinet Kammermusik. I need to work on his music education! I wonder how he will do with Baroque opera???

    • Haha… it must be great having cats that like classical music. Mr. Bowie didn’t like pure electronic music. If I was working on tracks with only synthesizers and electronic (weird) sounds he walk out of the studio. So far Jimi seems to like hanging around in the studio.
Wishing you a great weekend, Doug!

  5. Jimi looks like he is settling in nicely, Herman! Yes, they are all different personalities, but it is spooky where their looks and mannerisms are very like a dear departed feline. Nod reminds me a lot of old Klaatu. She even has the blue eye on the left side, like Klaatu did, and talks like him.

    • Hi Lavinia. That’s a real spooky story. When Bowie’s ashes returned back home something very weird happened that night. It’s too strange to write a post about it but it felt as Bowie send me a sign.
But now I’m very happy that Jimi’s my new companion and he likes his new home…
Wishing you a great weekend, my dear friend!

    • Hi Christine. Thank you so much for your kind words! So glad Jimi is feeling home and enjoys my company…
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend, my dear friend!

    • Hi Julie. Thank you so much for your kind comment. I’m so glad Jimi’s feeling home and loves his new environment. Thank goodness he’s also likes my music…
Hope you’re having a great weekend, my dear friend!

    • Hi Mary. Thank you so much for your kind comment. I’m so happy Jimi’s adapting so good to his new home and human. He walks around the house as he lived here for years… And he loves his new environment…
Hope you’re having a great weekend, my friend!

      • No agenda this weekend, Herman, except snuggle with the kids, watch a movie and eat! Hope you are having some of the same with your espresso and dark chocolate. 🙂

        • Oh yes, thank you, Mary! I have to catch up with some newspapers and magazines because Jimi needs a lot of attention and play time… 😉

  6. So happy to hear Jimi is adjusting to his new home.
Our Maisie doesn’t like the volume up too high either, but it doesn’t seem to fizz on Vivian. Hmm…hope this doesn’t mean she has a hearing problem!

  7. I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

My heart is singing today for you, Jimmy and angel, Mr Bowie, as he gently shows Jimmy the way. Life is Pawsome and then some xK

    • Hi Kelly. Thank you so much for your beautiful and heartwarming comment, my dear friend. I’m so happy I found Jimi and he loves his new home and human. Life can be pawsome, yes!

Hope you’re having a wonderful day! Thank you for hanging around all these years!

  8. I believe cats can be hyperactive in a new home and then settle. Jimi has a history he must process away and a new world to explore. I bought my chartreux from a cat breeder and did not expect trouble. Well, for the first ten days or so, he literally flew in midair. He then became a chartreux. The long car ride may have upset him. Jimi will calm down. Best.

    • Hi Micheline. Thank you for your kind comment and concern. I know it will take some time for Jimi to feel 100% home in his new environment. But I’m sure he already likes it here and we will get along very good… I’m happy to give this sweet boy a forever home.

  9. Well, it would seem as if Jimi takes after his namesake. Who knows what he might be cable of musically. Happy he is making himself at home. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

    • It seems Jimi loves to keep me company when I’m hanging around in the studio. The first moments I had to keep the volume down but he got used to the music quickly.

    • Thank goodness Jimi likes to hang around with me in the studio. I’m feeling so good with this sweet boy in my neighbourhood… So glad we found each other.

    • Hi Russel Ray. Don’t worry about it, thank you for checking out some posts and glad you liked them.
I noticed something similar yesterday: I left some ‘likes’ on posts and by coincidence I noticed they where gone in the evening. Strange…
