Pancakes/Ice Cream?

Summer’s here! June 21 marks the summer solstice in this part of the world, which is the day of the year with the most hours of daylight. This always make me feel good and happy. I bought some extra vanilla and coffee ice cream to help me cool down next week. Weatherman predicts the first heatwave with temperatures going up to 38 degrees Celsius. Looking forward to having breakfast and reading the newspaper outside in the garden.

Pritty, Mr. Bowie’s mom, prefers pancakes but it looks like we are going for ice cream next week…

Enjoy this beautiful day, my friends, wherever you are. Peace, love and understanding.

    • This is not Mr. B on the photograph, it’s Pritty, Bowie’s mom…
Enjoy the summer days, my friend! Feel free to join us for ice cream… 😉

  1. The ice cream sounds like a great idea for those reallly hot days to come, though! Plain French vanilla, maybe a nice cherry ice cream sounds good for then.

Finally, we have typical (rainy, cool) weather more typical of June here, and I’m enjoying the 12 degrees C this morning. I have windows open for the cool air, and all is well!

My kitty boys – Andy and Dougy – and I sent our best “Meows” to you and Mr. Bowie~!

    • Well, I’ll admit I prefer some cooler weather too but humans always love to complain about the weather… Mr. Bowie seems to have fun all the time!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend, my friend! Mr. Bowie says “Meow!” and sends his regards to you all!

    • Hi Bernadette. Pancakes with fresh fruit and whipped cream… I can go for that! 😉
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, my friend!

  2. Happy summer to you and Bowie, and Bowie’s mom! Mimi mom here wanted to send a special greeting to Pritty by stepping on my keyboard before I was done typing my comment. 🙂

    • I can picture the scene… Mr. Bowie loves to keep an eye on my fingers while I’m typing on my keyboard…

  3. Fantastic photo of Pritty. Looks like she wants more pancakes. Laurie’s making gelato and smoothies to kick off summer. Our kitties have been going for cold milk and cream. Enjoy your ice cream.

    • Hi Tim. Glad you liked the post. Gelato and smoothies sounds delicious too…

Mr. Bowie had to spend 4 days in the hospital last week due to a gastrointestinal disorder but he’s ok right now and back home. I’ll probably write a post about it soon.

Wishing you and Laurie a wonderful weekend, my friend!

  4. Pritti looks like she might appreciate a second helping! We’ve had quite a variety of weather here the last couple of weeks – rain/high winds/humid heat and even hailstones. Today it’s sunny so I mowed the lawn and am now having a fresh strawberry smoothie. Ice cream sounds good – I’m adding it to my grocery list NOW. Sending Bowie POTP after his stay in the hospital – hope he’s VERY well now. Teddy and I send both of you hugs………..

    Pam

    • Hi Pam. Strawberry smoothie… sounds delicious too!
Mr. Bowie’s feeling much better now. We have to find (a mix of) the right diet food to keep his problem under control. Thank you so much for your concern, my friend.
      Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

    • Feel free to join us, Christine!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, my friend!

PS: Thank you for your tweet!

    • Oh yes. My best friend took the picture after having pancakes… It looked like Pritty was waiting for another pancake…

  5. I read about your predicted heat wave and hope it doesn’t get that bad. It’s good that you can enjoy your garden and spend some time out there each day before it gets too hot. You, and Mr. Bowie too. Have a good beginning of summer and a nice weekend. Extra ice cream….yesss!

  6. I can see where Mr Bowie got his good looks! 😀
Enjoy your ice cream and hot summer weather. 🙂
I think Pritty is waiting to be served her own portion on a tiny plate with tiny cutlery!! 😀

    • I just had ice cream with my dad to celebrate the new summer… 😉
Pritty is a very beautiful cat and I always enjoy paying her a visit, and have pancakes too, of course…
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, my friend!

  7. Happy solstice to you and Mr. Bowie! Lovely photo of Mr. Bowie in anticipation. Our weather has been very strange. For two days we had the usually high humidity with temps around 30C and while it threatened thunderstorms last night, all we got were a few sprinkles. Today was a strong wind from the north, our nice Canadian friends must have sent us something to blow out the humidity. It’s more like September than June, so we (I) are having coffee and the cats get extra salmon cat food.

    • Hi Angela! That’s not Mr. Bowie in the photograph, it’s Mr. Bowie’s mom. But he got her looks for sure…
We had a lot of thunderstorms too lately, with very heavy rainfall. The weather is changing a lot from one day to another.
Coffee and extra salmon cat food… sounds like a very good idea to me!

Wishing you a great weekend, my friend!

  8. For sure Mr.Bowie got the looks of his Mom. Hope all went well wit Mr.Bowie’s gastro internal surgery, so maybe ice cream isn’t a good treat for him now? Enjoy the longest day of the year, as it is still here as I am writing. Have a ” treatfull” weekend, I just created that word, not to be found in a dictionary !

    • Hi Cornelia. Mr. Bowie’s feeling better for the moment. I’m looking to find the right mix of 2 different diet foods. Unfortunately, he doesn’t like wet food… so I need to give him oil (and he hates that!).
I’m sure we’ll have a “treatfull” weekend with lots of ice cream and custom treats for Mr. Bowie.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, my friend!

  9. Pritty is such a beautiful cat, Herman! I can see where Mr. Bowie takes after her.

Enjoy the ice cream, Herman! It’s back to being on the cool side over here. We’ll see when the really hot weather kicks in again.

    • Hi Lavinia. We’ll sure enjoy our ice cream moments in the garden, before it gets to hot in the afternoon. Mr. Bowie loves to stay outside until it’s almost midnight.
Pritty is a very beautiful cat, but she’s a lot smaller.

Wishing you a great weekend, my dear friend! Mr. Bowie says “Meow!” and sends his regards to everyone at the Farm!

  10. Mr. Bowie’s mom is a very refined lady. Beauty runs in the family.
Hope you have a great Solstice weekend. I wouldn’t mind your +38C. It sounds more fun than our +15C.

    • Hi Inese. Oh no, 15°C… sounds like it’s still winter over there…!! We hit 30°C today and next days should get warmer. I got a feeling it’s already too hot right now. Going to need a lot of ice cream to cool down…
Hope you’re enjoying your Sunday evening, my friend!

    • Glad you liked the photograph, thank you! But you’ve made a mistake: it’s Mr. B’s mom in the photo and yes, they look almost the same… 🙂

  11. Pancakes and ice cream…yum, yum. Chancy has never had pancakes but we both love us some ice cream. Enjoy! Hugs and nose kisses

    • Hi Mags. I like the combination of pancakes with ice cream. But now while having this heatwave, I prefer ice cream… a lot of it!
Hope you’re having a great day, my friend! Mr. Bowie says “Meow!” and sends his regards!

  12. Order up !! I’m afraid I’m a plain Jane when it comes to my pancakes. I might add sliced strawberries if I’ve got them, but never syrup, whip cream, chocolate sauce or butter. I like to pop them in the toaster the next day too. I’d definitely share them with Pritty too. She looks like she’d stare me down until I did, LOL. Sorry to hear about the extreme heat throughout Europe. 38C is insane !! The international news reported on it just tonight. I hope you and Mr Bowie are finding ways to stay cool, ice-cream’s a great start xK Be safe, hydrate !

    • Hi Boomdee. Hey, that’s a great idea of putting them in a toaster the next day. I’m going to try it out soon… Personally my favourite pancake is only a lot of syrup on it. And yes, occasionally some vanilla ice cream…
We didn’t hit the 38°C mark but 34°C was also very hot. Looking forward to some cooler summer days though… In the meantime I’ll go for some extra coffee ice cream. Feel free to join me, my friend! 😉

    • Hi David. Yes, and it’s here to stay so join me for vanilla and coffee ice cream! We didn’t get the 38°C but had some days of 34°C. That’s a little bit too hot for me, and Mr. Bowie. But we like to cool us down with ice water and of course, milkshakes and ice cream…

  13. Good morning dear kitty and Herman, the cats and I are reading the news about the horrible heat scorching Europe and we are worried about you (and all our friends/ furriends) living through this right now. We promise to do our best, over here, to elect a smart person who will address climate crisis with your leaders in 2020. 💕🌞 Hugs to you, Christine, Dylan and Bagheera

    • Hi there Christine and my furry friends! Thank you so much for your concern. We had a few cooler days and the temperatures dropped below 30°C but in the weekend we’re going for 34°C! Going to need a lot of ice cream I guess… 😉
I saw some clips about the Democratic candidates last night. I’m very curious who’s going to be the winner next year…
Mr. Bowie says “Meow!” and sends his regards to Dylan and Bagheera! Wishing you a wonderful weekend, my dear friends!

    • Hi Hedy! Bon appétit, my friend! I’m ready to go to my dad’s place and watch first the Tour de France (a team time-trial) and afterwards we’re going to watch the World Cup soccer game. The USA team will be hard to beat… 😉
      Wishing you a wonderful day!

  14. The temperatures have dropped down in our Country to almost furreezing, Mr Bowie, but that’s a good time for pancakes, right 😉 Now…can I have one😸Cool Pawkisses for a Happy Week ahead🐾😽💞

    • Oh no… Let’s hope summer will come back very soon, my friends!
Wishing you a wonderful day! Mr. Bowie says “Meow!” and sends his regards!

  15. I love ice cream but it does little too cool me off when it is that hot. I am thanking God daily because we have had cool-for-July temps. I am loving it – ok, it is actually hotter than I like it, but considering it is July – it is awesome! I hope Mr. B got lots of pancakes! I am surprised he prefers them over ice CREAM.

    • Haha… oh yes, it’s really so funny!
Glad you’re back on HoB and you’re ok! Hope you’re having a wonderful day!
