The Hard Way

Signs that will tell you that you need to spend more time with your cat. Giving up reading the newspaper will make you happier. I found out the hard way.

Enjoy this beautiful day, my friends, wherever you are. Peace, love and understanding.

  1. I don’t know about Belgian newspapers, but American news is nearly always depressing. I don’t think Mr. Bowie is being selfish, I think he is trying to preserve your health. News might raise your blood pressure or cause stress. Cats are great stress relievers and good for your heart. Stay healthy and thank Dr. Bowie.

    • You are so right, Angela. I’m reading 2 newspapers each day and try to watch at least 1 tv news. But in the end, it always makes me feel bad… πŸ˜‰
Thank goodness Mr. Bowie’s watching over my health…
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday!

    • So true, Misha. He’s also trying to block my view in front of the screen… πŸ™‚
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday too!

  2. Lucky you only have Mr. Bowie to plop down in the middle of you paper. That is a precious photo of Mr. Bowie doing a paper protest.

    • Thank you, Tim. You are so right, guess I’m very lucky with only 1 cat in my neighbourhood… πŸ˜‰
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday, my friend!

  3. Our dad still tries to read the newspaper, but Mom gave up long ago. Standing in the middle of the room to read is just not convenient. Mr. Bowie you are doing a great job demanding the attention you deserve. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

    • Haha… thank you for this idea! Tomorrow, I’m going to try to read the newspaper standing in the middle of the room… πŸ˜‰
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday, my friends!

  4. Keep getting the newspaper tho cos all cats love to lay on them. Just don’t let him read it either, cos all the world’s news is bad….for both of you. I wish for early spring for both of you. You can get out more and he can go explore your wonderful garden more. And there will be catnip to grow!

    • Hi Jackie! Our Sunday is coming to an end. It looks like Mr. Bowie is ready to go to his cat bed… He just came back inside from his evening walk in the garden.
Hope you and Sienna are having a wonderful Sunday too!

    • Hi France! No more bad news for our furry friend. And maybe I’ll skip some pages too tomorrow… πŸ˜‰
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday!

  5. Mr. Bowie looks like he is determined to catch your attention, Herman! πŸ™‚ All the best to both of you. Have a peaceful Sunday, with dark chocolate, espresso and cat treats! Maybe even some ice cream… πŸ™‚

    • Hi Lavinia! It looks like you can read my mind… we had dark chocolate, espressos and treats for Mr. Bowie! But did you mention ‘ice cream’ too…?? πŸ˜‰
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday, my dear friend! Mr. Bowie says “Meow!” and sends his regards to the cat crew of Salmon Brook Farms!

  6. Mr. Bowie, sometimes we have to tell Mom that she needs to pay more attention to us. We do it by sitting right in front of the monitor so she can’t use the computer. We also lay down on top of her books when she’s trying to read. Sooner or later our humans will finally learn that the most important thing is US!! You two have a wonderful day and don’t leave the chocolate in the sunshine. MOL!

    • Hi there, my friends. It looks like you are two very wise cats! But, I believe all cats are very, very wise… πŸ™‚
Hope you and your Mom are having a wonderful Sunday! Mr. Bowie says β€œMeow!” and sends his regards!

PS: did you mention ‘chocolate’…?? πŸ˜‰

    • So true! Shame on me for reading that newspaper… I’m so sorry, Mr. Bowie!
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday, my friends!

  7. I think Mr. Bowie has made his point! What’s more interesting – the news or him?! I think I know the answer. I think he does too! Enjoy this day and every day together!

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

    • Hi Pam! You are so right, Mr. Bowie is much more important and interesting for sure!
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday, my dear friend!

  8. A familiar sight. My two always lie across newspapers and computer keyboards. Mischa takes it a step further by lying across my sewing machine or a pattern I’m trying to cut out. What can you do? I think Mr Bowie has the right idea. Who needs the bad news!

    • Haha… I can picture the scene. Cats are really such funny and adorable creatures!
Hope you’re having a wonderful day, Jill!

PS: no one needs bad news! πŸ™‚

    • Haha… Thank goodness Mr. Bowie doesn’t like the sound the printer makes while printing. But he also loves to sit in front of the monitor too… Cats are really funny and mysterious creatures!

  9. Haha, that is so typical for cats, to lay down on the newspaper you are about to read, “pay attention to me” behavior”. Two belated cats of mine would crawl up together on my once a week treat of reading the “New York Times”.

    • Well, I’m sure it must be very comfortably, looking at Mr. Bowie when he’s having his break in front of my monitor…

    • Hi Teagan! Thank you so much for your hugs! I’m still enjoying reading my newspaper in the morning with my espresso and chocolate, and a treat for Mr. Bowie of course.
Mr. Bowie says “Meow!” and sends his regards to you and Crystal!

  10. Mr. Bowie, that look really says it all! We try lying on Mom’s books and things and she finally has to give up the idea of reading. Don’t humans realize we come first??? MOL!
