Almost Home

Oh Spring, Where Art Thou? They say that half an hour of daily walking can be hugely beneficial to your health. It’s good for boosting your memory, mood and creativity. I’m trying to walk at least an hour or two while Mr. Bowie is sleeping and in recovering mode. It helps me to relax, refresh and recharge. Get myself emotionally winter-ready.

Enjoy this beautiful day, my friends, wherever you are. Peace, love and understanding.

  1. Lovely photograph Herman………..good to get that walking exercise – good for the mind, soul, and our creativity. Glad Mr. Bowie continues enjoying his recovery……….

  2. A beautiful photo, Herman! That looks like a lovely walk.

Glad to hear Mr. Bowie is still recovering nicely. Mr. Nano says sleep is very good for whatever ails one, and he highly recommends a good nap. 🙂

    • Thank you, Lavinia! We all know Mr. Nano is a very wise cat! When I got back home I joined Mr. Bowie on my bed for a nap… 😉

  3. I’ve been so much healthier since becoming a pet sitter/dog walker. I HAVE to be outside and walking, no matter the weather. I used to suffer from seasonal affect stuff, but don’t anymore. Enjoy your walks.

    • Thank you, my friend! I’m still suffering from seasonal affective disorder but I’m feeling much better since I’m walking a lot.

  4. That looks like a gorgeous spot for a walk. We are not looking forward to winter setting in very soon. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy

    • Hi Cornelia! Thank goodness Mr. Bowie lets me share his fleece when I’m tired after taking a walk…
Hope you’ll enjoy your walks in the future!

    • Ja hoor! Ik voel me achteraf altijd veel beter. En ik merk ook dat ik beter slaap, nu bijna zonder medicatie en vooral nadat de lakens zijn ‘ingeslapen’… 😉

    • I’m very lucky to live in a green environment so it’s very easy to enjoy my walks.
Thank goodness Mr. Bowie’s finally getting better. He really enjoys his fleece and my bed…

  5. Hallo Herman 😀 Such a gorgeous lane for a peaceful walk. Sometimes I crave to be alone with just my thoughts too. We’re well into winter here in Canada. Fall was short this year and the first snow was October 31. By March we see signs of spring hopefully. I happily read your updates for Mr Bowie! So relieved for you both! Poor guy has been through so much. Zorg goed voor elkaar xB

    • Hi Boomdee! It is always a pleasure to read your comments!
I really need those long walks to find some peace inside my head. Sometimes I wish I was a cat so I could sleep 23 hours a day… But I wouldn’t like the trips to the vet and I would miss my dark chocolate! 😉

Have a nice weekend, my dear friend! I will take good care of Mr. Bowie!

  6. Walking is a great way to keep healthy. I hope the weather stays pleasant enough for you to continue for a while longer.
I have Little Monkey to walk every day which gets me out whether I feel like it or not! 🙂

    • Thank you Mary! I wish Mr. Bowie would join me but he prefers to take a nap on my bed…
      Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

    • Thank you so much, my friend. Glad to see I’m not the only one who’s counting down to Spring…
      Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

  7. Haha, you are dreaming of spring too early, Herman 🙂 Look what a beautiful autumn you have over there. Glad you can enjoy these walks while Mr. Bowie is dutifully performing his sleeping. You both are such a team 🙂

    • Thank you very much, my friend! We had a lot of rain before noon but could go outside in the afternoon and enjoy the sunshine.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

  8. If I had such a pretty path nearby I would love to walk too … however we have a road where the long grass grows and I know what is there – snakes, no doubt in the warm weather! So I go to the gym instead.
