Newsflash #16

Not happy. I just got home from the Venhei Veterinary Hospital. Mr. Bowie’s check up shows that the medicines are not working properly so we have to look for other options. Next Friday we are going back to see a special eye doctor. In the meantime Mr. Bowie’s medicines are adapted. I’m sure everything will work out fine. Hang in there, my furry friend!

Enjoy this beautiful day, my friends, wherever you are. Peace, love and understanding.

  1. Poor Mr. Bowie, and you too. I’m sorry this is harder than any of us would wish, and hope things improve soon.

  2. So sorry to hear this….I know both of you wish this could be resolved sooner rather than later….perhaps the eye specialist will have a different solution in mind? Hope so….meanwhile, grab an espresso and relax. Teddy is sending Mr. B a hug…….a therapeutic one!

  3. Don’t give up! Keep trying the meds, asking questions, doing your own research. I really hope Mr. Bowie gets better very soon! Healing hugs to you little rockstar Buddy! 😘

  4. Oh Herman, I’m sorry. I know how it hurts to see them in any sort of pain. Crystal and I have been going through something too, for the past six weeks (that long to get appointments, try to get information, and then schedule surgery). Her surgery is tomorrow. Hugs and chin rubs.

  5. With you waiting . . . . We have been working on Bugs’s various “things” for almost six months now. Time keeps on ticking, ticking, ticking, into the future . . . . Perseverance!

  6. Aw – Although I clicked Like – I do Not like to hear this at all!
Poor Mr Bowie! Yes, Hang in there. It is just a matter of finding the right meds to heal you.
My own Little Monkey came to me with an eye infection, which took months, and many different meds, to cure – and then we started on her chronic ear infection!
I am sure you will win in the end.
Treats for poor Mr Bowie! 🙂

  7. I’m sorry to hear that his troubles go on. Sending fuzzy warm thoughts to him, and you, cos when our baby is sick, we aren’t so good either. I hope the eye doc is good!

  8. Good luck, Herman. Our Abby contracted feline herpes as a kitten, and every once in a while she has an outbreak in her right eye. It is hard to see our companions go through such painful things. Mr. Bowie is in our thoughts and prayers, as are you.

    • Thank you so much for your kind comment, Lavinia. Much appreciated!
Mr. Bowie says “Meow!” and sends his regards!

  9. Oh no! I hope you find something that works.

Cole gets outbreaks in his left eye once in awhile. We just started with putting the goop in his eye last night. He is not a fan of being picked up to begin with so doing the treatment is not fun for any of us.

  10. That’s a heck of a note. It’s so distressing when meds don’t work, making it more difficult to figure out what’s going on. The specialist will certainly come up with a cure. Spunk believes you can get the Cure going by playing “Love Cats” to cheer everyone up. All the new world kitties here in the high deserts of New Mexico are pulling for Mr. Bowie.

    • Just found out ‘Love Cats’ is missing in my iTunes library! Shame on me… But there’s somewhere a greatest hits CD of the Cure lying around… 😉
Mr. Bowie says “Meow!” and sends his regards to Spunk and all the cats in the high deserts of New Mexico!

      • I think you have access to the original video on YouTube. I can’t get the original video in the high desert.

  11. not good…find not only 1 specialist…look for 2 or 3 different and talk with the different vets before travelling…
thought we had some bad exp. dozen y before and we travelled about 100 km to find a real spec. vet…not an easy job!…
    Good Luck…Mr. Chief Mouser 😉

  12. Aww! So sad to see our boy hunkered down like that while his eye consumes his normally playful energy. And it is not easy for the human companion (that would be you, Herman) to maintain mental equilibrium while this issue persists and resists normal medical treatment. My heart goes out to both of you. Keep the faith, Alia

  13. Get well soon Mr. Bowie- we send healing purrs all the way from Oregon in the USA!

  14. So sorry to hear this Mr Bowie! Sometimes when antiobiotics do not work it may be worth seeing a homeopathic vet. We wish you well and hope you will soon be on the road to recovery :o)

  15. awww…….sorree dood, we noe everee one waz hopin thiz go around would be the one that werked; 984 paws crossed that the specialist givez dad sum pawsitive nooze and a treet mint

  16. Best wishes to Mr Bowie hope he gets better quickly. One of my cats Mimi had an eye infection a couple of years ago, took quite a while to clear up but she’s fine now.

  17. Aw, Herman, I’m so sorry Bowie’s eye isn’t responding to the meds. I’m going to think good healing thoughts (and say a prayer for him if you don’t mind) that the specialist finds a resolution and Bowie’s eye is healed. In the meantime, give him some extra love from me.

  18. So sorry for you and Mr. Bowie. Last year my Dolly got her eye hurt and I had to go to the eye specialist with her. He was a wonderful vet and Dolly is doing fine now. I am sure it will be the same for Mr. Bowie.

  19. Oooh; a dear friend of mine specializes in ophthalmology for small pets… I wish we could fly her to Mr. Bowie, or MB to her.. She adores cats, and has one that looks a lot like our WP star Bowie… May he get well pronto.

  20. I’m so sorry for Mr Bowie. Have been thinking of him and wish the news had been better. Anyway I’m sure the eye specialist will solve the problem. Hope our little friend is better soon.

  21. Hello Herman and dear Bowie….I am very hopeful that the eye specialist has good ideas and a plan for therapy. We are keeping you in our thoughts this week. Hugs from Minnesota 💞 Christine, Dylan and Bagheera
