33

Back to normal. Mr. T has left building and our country but the heat is still on. Temperatures are set to soar above 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) the next days. This is not fake news.Β Mr. Bowie is chilling out and gets plenty of fresh, clean and cool water. I was invited by my best friend to try some healthy vegetarian and (hot hot hot) Mexican food. So delicious…

Enjoy this beautiful day, my friends, wherever you are. Peace, love and understanding.

  1. So the temp is due to “soar” to 33? LOL You would not have wanted to be in this part of the world last summer – try 43!!! Thank goodness we are now in the mid 20’s – really nice autumn weather so far. Mexican is my favourite, but that looks too healthy! No churros dunked in chocolate sauce? No sangria?

    • Haha… Enjoyed your comment, Jill! ‘Too healthy’… I love to use that quote myself sometimes, especially when there’s chocolate involved… πŸ˜‰
43 degrees!?! My goodness, no can do… Think I’m ready for some chocolate ice cream!

  2. Jill’s comment about “too healthy” is how it struck me, too. That said, Mexican is one of my favorites, too, though I live by the motto “Food is good!” All cuisines have yummy ways of making a meal, and I like to enjoy everything I try. Calf brains (yuck) I tried by accident in Italy didn’t appeal, but that was a surprising disappointment. I mean, Italy was where I learned I like squid and octopus and that a properly made pizza with anchovies isn’t something to turn your nose up on!

As for Mr. Bowie, that is a magnificent portrait of our kitty friend! He looks like he’s in his natural element!

    • “Food is good” is also the motto of my Dad. He likes to eat a lot of different stuff, except spicy food. I love hot and spicy food! But calf brains… my goodness… that scares me off!
I love Italy especially for the coffee and ice cream, of course.

      • Gelato is especially good compared with any other form of ice cream I’ve ever eaten. I’d enjoy having some spumone right now! I especioally like espresso. You definitely get big bang for your buck (as we say in the US), and a little is a lot.

Turkish coffee is great, too, though I have yet to master the process of making it. (I over-flow it on the first heat EVERY time! LOL!) I bought a cezve in Paris decades ago, and I can grind the beans just about fine enough in my grinder. I think I need to either buy it ground to the right fineness or get a mill that grinds finer than I can grind it at present. I remember coffee made this way and wish I could have some right now.

        • Thank you for this interesting knowledge about coffee and stuff. We’re having a heat wave right now but it won’t stop me from having my daily espressos… πŸ˜‰
Oh yes, and there’s always coffee flavoured ice cream in the freezer!

Have a nice day and enjoy your espresso, my friend!

  3. He looks so good laying in all that nice vegetation. Did your Mexican food light up your life? Mr. T is gone from there, but still out in the world causing issues. We are sorry, really, most of us are. 😦

    • Well, about the Mexican food, I had a large cool banana milkshake afterwards!
Thank goodness we have our pets, coffee, chocolate and treats to compensate for Mr. T! πŸ˜‰

Have a nice weekend and happy gardening, my friend!

        • Thank you, my friend!
Thunderstorms and rain showers this morning so I’m having my first espresso inside… But it’s still hot!

  4. Ice Cream? You seem to be missing a key food for beating the heat. But I see you had a milkshake β€” good move. Bowie has it right relaxing among the plants. You need some New Mexican food with green chile or what’s really yummy for those non-veggy tendencies in NM is a green chile cheese burger with green chile cheese fries and a glass of green chile wine. Talking about Hot! You could give Mr Bowie a can of Fillet of Finch with green chile and cheese, and Moussed Mouse for desert.

    • I ran out of ice cream this week, just when the hot weather arrived! Bummer! Shame on me…
It looks like you are a real expert concerning Mexican food, Tim. I would love to join you for dinner! But keep in mind, Mr. Bowie has a food allergy… πŸ˜‰

  5. Mr. Bowie looks awesome……….but then he always does! I love Mexican food but not if it’s real hot. It does look good, though! Have a super wonderful day.
Stereo purrs……..Hemingway and Steinbeck and smiles from Pam (The Mom)

    • Hi Pam and my furry friends! Please be careful with that hot Mexican food…
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! Mr. Bowie sends his regards!

  6. oh…delicous – send this mexican FAKE-FOOD to Mr. T. …think afterwards he has the runs…
his preferred steaks and tomato ketchup is unhealthier as the above fakes… πŸ˜‰ animal heat will continue 2 days more…take some ice scoops…2 specially in mind for Mr. T. the barbarian ECO monkey king of G7 Summit (!!!)
    have a good sunday…

    • Thank you for the inspiring comment! Now I definitely need ice cream!
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! Keep yourself cool!

  7. The feast seems to be gorgeous, although I am not a great lover of spicy food. Mr. Bowie looks so beautiful! Happy to know about the heat, because I think it will go over my country, and I love while is getting over 30. I am expecting this beautiful weather! I got my dog for a huge walk and we bought the maxi frappe coffee and two huge pieces of homemade brownies in the cafe tent close to water. Dogs are allowed there πŸ™‚

    • Hi Kokodynia! Sounds like you had a pleasant day. Hmm, homemade brownies in combination with ice cream would be delicious right now… πŸ˜‰
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!

    • Hi Lavinia! We ran out of ice cream… We’ll have to search for a store that is open on Sunday! Weatherman says temperatures will drop from next Tuesday.
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday. Mr. Bowie sends his regards!

  8. Is Mr. Bowie hiding for fear of jalapenos?!!! It’s a really great image which prompts the imagination. Mexican food options are few unless in a larger or tourist-friendly area. That burrito looks very tempting!

The email notification for this post is AWOL, as was for another blogger’s post from the same time period. I rarely check the reader but did tonight. My luck to have seen this one, but from the comments and likes, the glitch must have been in my own mail system!

    • I recently had the same thing happening to me. Some posts of bloggers I follow didn’t show up in my reader and from other posts I didn’t get a mail notification. After a few days everything was back to normal…

    • Thunderstorms and heavy rain this morning so I have to drink my espresso inside… But it’s still hot outside!
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday! Mr. Bowie sends his regards!

  9. Mr. Bowie seems to be relieved that Mr.T. has left. I was hoping Europeans or Soudie’s would keep him, since we don’t like him here. Ice cream might be healing, but I would have to eat tons of it, watching the new’s here. Have a peaceful sunday.

    • I think nobody wants Mr. T in his house… The horror… the horror! πŸ˜‰
Thunderstorms and rain showers right now, so I have to drink my first espresso inside.
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday!

  10. Your temp sounds like ours we had thunderstorms and rain last night so cooler today though. Mr. Bowie seems to have found a nice place to relax and cool. Don’t get us started on Mr. T. The food looks and sounds good. You all have a wonderful Sunday. Hugs and nose kisses

    • Hi Mary J! I think we’ll go for both!
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday! Mr. Bowie sends his regards!

  11. You Tarzan, me Jane πŸ˜€ Looks like you’re deep in the jungle Mr Bowie. It’s a good place to be when the heat is on. Make sure your dad minds the catnip…it will need hydration too xo Boomdee

    • Oh yes, my dear Boomdee, I’m checking out his catnip plants every evening!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, my friend!

  12. Mr. Bowie reminds me of a mirror I had in high school. It was a cat among tall leaves: “In the jungle darkness lurks the tiger.” πŸ™‚

    • Guess you could call Mr. Bowie a tiger for sure… πŸ™‚
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!

  13. With that wonderfulportrait of Mr. Bowie doing his jungle cat imitation and your Mexican food you both could have been vacationing in Yucatan on the Gulf of Mexico. If anyone offers you Mexican food with MolΓ© sauce be sure to try it, it’s made with chocolate!

    • Thank you, Angela!
Yucatan on the Gulf of Mexico…?? MolΓ© sauce made with chocolate…?? I’m not sure about Mr. Bowie but you can count me in! πŸ˜‰
