Question. Is it ok to take a little human back home when they are disrespecting Mr. Bowie’s rules? He doesn’t want to play anymore, kiddo. All Mr. Bowie wants to do is sleep sleep sleep…
Enjoy this beautiful day, my friends, wherever you are. Peace, love and understanding.
Mr. Bowie does look like he is smiling. Maybe he just heard that the little one is headed home.
Haha… so true! Mr. Bowie fell back asleep immediately!
It’s hard for little humans to understand rules, and it would be so tempting to try to get Mr. Bowie to play more, even for big humans. 🙂
The little human woke up Mr. Bowie so our furry friend wasn’t pleased at all… 😉
Uh oh. Does the little human come there very often?
Only in the weekends and Mr. Bowie likes the little guy, well, when he’s not to sleepy… 😉
Mr Bowie is definitely pleading for help from the photographer! 😉
Oh yes, Cindy! And he gave me a chocolate treat afterwards! 😉
❤
Dank je wel, Wiske!
Enough already kid! Come back when you learn cat time 😉
Haha… Hope he gets the message! 🙂
Mr. Bowie looks perplexed regarding what to do about the small human. The Boys of Salmon Brook Farms recommend a good dose of catnip, and then hide on top of the highest bookshelf. Sleep will come! 🙂
Hi Lavinia! Thanks for the wise advice from the Boys of Salmon Brook Farms. Actually, Mr. Bowie ran away and climbed up his highest cat tower. The little human couldn’t reach him anymore… 😉
Have a nice day! Mr. Bowie says “Meow!”
The little human and Mr. Bowie, you are both so lovely, I know what you mean, our grandson like that and our Princess wants to sleep… Thank you, Blessing and Happiness, Love, nia
Thank you so much, Nia! Hope you had a marvellous weekend.
Mr. Bowie says “Meow!”
Mr. Bowie has the proper, pleading look on his face in response to the devious look on the little human’s face. How did you happen to end up with a little human in the house?
The little human, the oldest great-grand child of our family, loves to pay Mr. Bowie a visit in the weekends. Mr. Bowie on the other hand, prefers his naps in the afternoon…
There’s a time for play and a time for sleep and it doesn’t always “mesh” with what the humans want. Having a high cat tree that is “unavailable” to the humans helps a lot though!!
Hugs, Pam, Angel Sam and Teddy
Haha… so true, my dear friends! Mr. Bowie loves to have a very high cat tree at his disposal… very handy in some situations!
I will have to see if my Mom will get ME one of those!
Hugs, Teddy
I’ll write an email to your Mom, my dear Teddy! You deserve a very high cat tree…
Poor Mr. Bowie. Little humans are in a different time zone from us cats. They don’t understand the delicate balance of being asleep and being awake. One can only hope that little human will soon learn.
Hugs and purrs from Pam, Hemingway and Steinbeck
The little humans should get a special education at their local schools concerning the time zones of cats! Or maybe you cats could treat them a lesson!
Little humans, with rare exception, should maintain a respectful distance from dignified cats such as Mr. Bowie….😺💞
So true, Christine! I’ll forward your comment to the little human… 🙂
Gotta follow Mr. Bowie’s rules, there is NO way around not even for little humans. No matter what cats rule in their own house. Peroid
We fully agree with your comment, Cornelia. Now let me explain this to the little human…
Kids have to be taught how to respect animals. Distract the kid with ice cream! 🙂
Also, don’t cats sleep like 20 hours a day? No wonder it is all Mr Bowie wants to do! 🙂
Did you mention ‘ice cream’…?? Now we’re talking! I’m going to get myself some coffee flavour ice cream right now while Mr. Bowie is sleeping… 😉
haha Good for you, but do save a little for Mr Bowie! 🙂
Consider it done! 🙂
😀
Very cute photo 🙂
Thank you, my friend!
Hello Herman and Mr. Bowie — Just like humans, animals have limits and boundaries, although it is more difficult for them to express them in forms that humans can understand. I have seem many “grown-ups” continue to pester a cat or dog or bird way beyond that animal’s tolerance for such behavior. Some animals will eventually “strike out” with a paw or claw to let the human (big or little) know that “Enough is enough!” Mr. Bowie is way too polite to even consider such rude behavior, so his strategy may be to withdraw into sleep and hope that his human (that would be you, Herman) will set the boundary for him.
Good luck with this tricky issue. We are all learning to honor boundaries and limits with both our human and animal friends. It’s a process but I think we are making progress. In any case, a bit of coffee ice cream will help smooth things over. Cheers and Meow, Alia
Coffee ice cream…?? We can go for that! Thank you, Alia!
Mr. Bowie says “Meow!”
The only cure for children is duct tape.
Hmm… going to add it on my shopping list…
Time to take the visitor home … isn’t that right, Mr. Bowie? 🙂
Mr. Bowie fully agrees with your comment, David!
Oh boy, that look on Bowie’s face…
“Dad? Help. Make him go home. Now.”
Haha… I always love the expressions on a cat’s face. It’s so obvious what they want to say!
I’m not hat crazy about being woken up when I want a nap either, so I sympathize with Mr. Bowie. I also understand the desire of the little human. I would want to play with Mr. Bowie too.
The problem is all the great-grand children (and their parents) in my family love to play with Mr. Bowie when they pay us a visit. But Mr. Bowie prefers something else…
Oh dear! Outnumbered! I see the problem.
Little ones usually mean our pets become scarce 😉
So true, Julie. Mr. Bowie prefers the company of old and wise humans, like my Dad! 😉
☺😀 smiles ~ hedy
Glad you liked the post, Hedy!
it’s that i always smile…Mr. Bowie is a feel good critter for sure! have a good day Herman 😀
Thank you so much! Mr. Bowie says “Meow!”
☺🐱☺
Every time our door bell rings, Samurai and Mischa disappear into the safety of their bedroom, especially if it is the little humans from across the street. They don’t come out until the coast is clear!
Haha… Samurai and Misha are very wise cats, no doubt about that!
Love this look of Mr. Bowie. ‘The Rules! Did you teach him The Rules?’
The Rules…?? I think it’s very difficult to teach a cat ‘anything’… 😉
Hm. Who would dare teach Mr. Bowie? Your young visitor was lucky that Mr. Bowie is a generous ruler 😉
I’ll forward your comment to the little human! 😉
The kid looks too big to fit under the bed, and too short to see on top of the closet. I’d recommend those places Mr Bowie. The nice thing about company is that sooner or later they leave, ha!
Mr. Bowie is always happy when Elvis or the little human has left the building… 😉
😀 I hear you Mr Bowie. We’ve never had kids and I think I might feel your pain in this regard, LOL
