Yellow Submarine

Breaking news! Upgrading my studio monitors already had a serious impact. An English rock band, formed in Liverpool, arrived in my studio today. I was very happy about the way in which the agreement with the band came about. However, I was a bit amazed when they arrived in a weird and wonderful vehicle.

Thank goodness I got by with a little help from my friend and famous studio technician, Mr. Bowie. And our friends are all on board and the band begins to play… It’s easy. All you need is love.

Enjoy this beautiful day, my friends, wherever you are. Peace, love and understanding.

  1. I see Mr. Bowie knows his Legos. Legos are one of the greatest inventions of all times, and the Yellow Submarine is super cool, and a great inspiration for you and Mr Bowie. Makes me want to upgrade my speakers and see what legos come of it 😉 I love the photos!

    • Thank you, Tim!
Actually, it was the first time ever I bought a Lego box for myself. But this one was hard to resist… It is really impressive how all the 550 pieces fit together and turn into the iconic Yellow Submarine.
The set was put forward to the idea’s section of Lego’s website by Beatles fan and singer-songwriter Kevin Szeto – before it received the necessary 10,000 votes to go into production.

          • I would have voted for it too. I’ve never bought legos for myself, but I bought lots of them for our daughter, and helped put them together. I also used to get them for our nephews until they went the way of soccer 24/7.

            • Exactly the same story overhere… This was my first box but years ago I gave a lot of birthday-Lego boxes to my nephews too.
American kids going soccer?!? Sounds very European to me… 😉

  2. The Yellow Submarine and its crew is a wonderful memory, Herman and Mr. Bowie! Glad the new studio is coming along, and you and Mr. Bowie are in business!

A peaceful evening to both of you, my friends. And all the best from Mr. Nano and the cat crew here, too! 🙂

    • Thank you so much, Lavinia! We’re having a great time right now. Everything looks and sounds amazing.

Wishing you a marvellous weekend and Mr. Bowie says “Hello” to Mr. Nano and the cat crew out there!

  3. Totally cool Legos kit…..love it and you boys did a fine job assembling it. I have a ton of wonderful memories of “those days”……Yellow Submarine was an incredibly fun song too but then the Beatles were incredible period. Have a happy and peace-filled day. Love truly is all we need (and maybe some chocolate!).

  4. Put a smile on my face! There is little about that time I want to remember – assassinations, riots, anti-war demonstrations, the Vietnam War – but the Beatles…! Man, now I have the song going through my head! The Blue Meanies haven’t a chance. The Beatles are coming in their Yellow Submarine! (Nice box, too, for Bowie!)

    • Hi Weggieboy! Glad you liked the post. The Beatles always make me feel good. I also love the solo projects of Paul McCartney and John Lennon. ‘Band on the Run’ from Paul McCartney and Wings is one of my favourite albums of all time.
Have a nice day with Beatles music in the background…

  5. Wonderful song, wonderful group, wonderful cat! I’m old(er) so I was around when they first came across the pond, but they didn’t come in a yellow submarine. That came later.

  6. That has to be my favorite Lego ever. I think I will tell my nephew he owes me one from all those childhood gifts. I am glad you indulged your inner child with a toy, it’s supposed to improve creativity. I am just curious if Mr. Bowie found a way to squeeze into the box, he seemed to be trying.

    • It took me hours to finish the job but I enjoyed every minute of it. Mr. Bowie kept me company and was helping me to find the right pieces… 😉
You are so right, your nephew should buy you a Yellow Submarine gift for Christmas or Santa Claus…
In the end Mr. Bowie found out the Lego box was not big enough and he went back to the lager KH 310 boxes… 😉

    • Thank you, Inese! When I saw the announcement of the release of this Lego box I knew immediately I had to buy this one. I guess you will find the Yellow Submarine in a lot of studio’s and music stores in the near future.
Thank goodness Mr. Bowie helped me out putting it all together! 😉
