Back to Work

A working studio technician is a happy studio technician. It’s Monday and Mr. Bowie is getting himself back in the groove, after taking some time off on the sofa. Getting great work done isn’t always just about finding a rush of inspiration, it’s also about defining your goals and setting yourself up in a productive work environment.

Mr. Bowie thinks it’s about time to buy a new box with a synth inside. He’s checking out the new Prophet-6, a 6-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer with a modern twist.  It’s Dave Smith’s tribute to the poly synth that started it all—the Sequential Prophet-5. But please, Mr. Bowie, I told you before, you must keep an eye on the studio budget. A studio technician usually performs this routine task. Get back to work, Mr. Bowie!

  1. He is so smart, to understand all the technical stuff, but then we knew he was smart. That old budget issue comes up often but I bet he’s on top of it. You have the best looking technician and efficient too, how can you beat that!

  2. Mr. Bowie says that if you don’t want to be the very best you can be, there is no further advice he can offer you. After all, you obviously are putting money before art. 🙂

  3. dood….we think ya shuld stix ta eatin pancakes !!!! N yur doin WAY better than uz at understandin stuff coz we wood knot noe what a “6-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer” wuz….. if it waz at de front door ringin de bell !!!

    • Probably, I’m always counting the knobs and sliders but I guess Mr. Bowie will be more interested in the dimensions of the box…

  4. Wp did it again! I just noticed I wasn’t following you. Why oh why does it unfollow people randomly? I’ve had this problem so many times. Anyway, I’m back! wondered why I wasn’t seeing you in my stream. :\

  5. Mr. Bowie is wonderful companion in the studio. He’s a quick learner and a hard worker, that one! Have an espresso and chocolate on your work breaks, and don’t forget the treats for Mr. Bowie! 🙂

  6. I’m sure Mr. Bowie keeps an eye on the budget, especially when it comes to top priority items required for the success of every studio: cat treats, cans of gourmet stinky goodness, and premier nip. How else is a studio tech supposed to do his job without these necessities?!
