Yuri Gagarin

IMG_7915

Weightless. Mr. Bowie feels like Yuri Gagarin. Although, it shows I’m not a great photographer. You always have to be ready and expect the unexpected. Get great pictures by balancing aperture, shutter speed and ISO. But wait a minute… A cat and boxes? There is nothing new, nothing unexpected in this scene! Anyway, I hope that I’m a better musician and songwriter than a photographer… One day, we will rock you.

Love put me in space, way above the trees
Listen NASA can you get my heart back please?
Weightless, love is a pure sensation
Weightless, I feel like Yuri Gagarin

  1. You are a wonderful photographer and DEFINATELY know your subject when it comes to Mr. Bowie. You caught that moment of sheer joy and weightlessness when a cats’ paws leave earth and head into space…..in this case between boxes (!)…..They are so light on their feet anyway, I’m sure that if they tried – they could FLY……….like Yuri only without the rocket ship…………..super photo.

    • Thank you so much for your kind words, Pam. Mr. Bowie says “Meow!”, but let’s hope he’ll stay on the ground with his paws…

    • Ja!! Zó kunnen springen, of gewichtloos zweven in de lucht. Zou dit wel eens willen meemaken. In mijn volgend leven studeer ik voor astronaut!

    • Thanks! Well, as always with Mr. Bowie, I was very lucky to be in the neighbourhood with a camera. Wish I had the correct shutter time, though…

    • Bedankt Joke.
Bowie wou blijkbaar meerijden…

    • Thank you so much, Julie! I wouldn’t be a photographer without Mr. Bowie, I guess…
Cats and boxes are just like me and chocolate: we love it!

    • I think Mr. Bowie was practicing with the hunt for Jaws in his mind! Please say ‘Hello’ to Mr. Nano and the crew.

      • And the crew send a big hello back to you and Mr. Bowie! Old Jaws is still at it out there. One of his relatives toppled the bird feeder post, sending it crashing into the back entrance ramp. I have a repair job for tomorrow…. 😦

  2. From the looks of this photo, Mr. Bowie is on target to do a “belly flop” onto the cardboard flaps. OW! I hope I am wrong in my prediction and that all ended well. What a shot! Meow, Mr. Bowie ♥

  3. I actually think your shot is brilliant for being there with your camera at the right moment. Life, it’s all about the everyday, tangled together by moments. I laughed, and you must too when you see it again. Don’t you love that a camera is like a mini time machine? You can go back to this moment over and over again. xo B

    • Thank you so much for your nice comment!
