Partial Eclipse of the Heart

Too many clouds to see the partial eclipse. Clear viewing opportunities were restricted by the cloud cover in this part of the world. With a little luck, I got this shot. During a brief moment, I felt the power of the dark side. But all in all, a disappointment.

Watch out, Mr. Bowie! No cat should ever look at the sun before, during or after a solar eclipse without protective eyewear.

    • Thank you! It was only for a few seconds but I’m glad I saw it… It brought back memories from the total eclipse in 1999 in France.

    • Ik heb geluk gehad. Het was maar 2x te zien, en telkens minder dan 1 minuut. De eerste keer was ik zelfs te laat met de camera…

  1. Not a chance in this part of the world. I think the shot you did get is beautifully atmospheric. Mr. Bowie is his usual photogenic self whatever the weather, isn’t he? Happy first day of spring to you both.

    • Thank you, Angela! Well you know, Mr. Bowie is Mr. Bowie, no matter what happens… 😉
      Have a nice weekend!

  2. We will not see the eclipse at all in the U.S. so a cloudy glimpse is better than none. Love that photo, Mr. B. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  3. Where are Mr. Bowie’s “shades”?? Love the photo, we could not see the eclipse at all here in the states. Thank you for sharing!

    • Thank you, Debi! I was too late for Mr. Bowie’s shades. Th eclipse was gone after a few seconds… 😦

  4. Actually, the imperfect viewing conditions gave you a much more interesting photo than what you might have had if you just had a disc covering another disc: very dramatic!

  5. Wow! No disappointment over here as the receiver of your shot. At first I thought it was a shot of the moon, though. Beautiful and very mystical with the clouds/fog there. And great shot of Mr. Bowie “looking at the Sun.” He’s always a delight to see, in any pose, with or without protective gear. ♥ Alia

    • Thank you so much, Alia! I was thinking the same when I saw the photograph on my screen. It really looks like it’s the moon…
      Mr. Bowie says “Meow!”
