Hit a wrong note. Someone said, ‘If you hit a wrong note, it’s the next note that you play that determines if it’s good or bad.’ I’m not so sure about that. This is the look Mr. Bowie gave me when he woke up because I had hit a wrong note on my keyboard. I realised placing your fingers correctly on the piano keys is crucial to developing more advanced abilities. Especially if you don’t want to wake up your cat.
“Don’t play what’s there; play what’s not there.” – Miles Davis
Perhaps you should invest in an electronic keyboard and earphones so you don’t upset the maestro.
I’m already playing ‘electronic’, Yvonne. But I got to be careful with headphones due to my tendonitis ear problems.
Uhoh……sometimes family members can be our worst critics! HAHA
Pam
So true… Thank you, Mr. Bowie!
That is the loveliest picture of annoyance I have ever seen!
Thank you, Mary J.
Mr. Bowie says “Meow!” in a grumpy kinda way…
Oh, sorry, I had not taken your tinnitus into account.
No problem, Yvonne. Don’t worry about it. I only got to be careful about waking up Mr. Bowie… 😉
In music, like life, it is not so much the bad note you play, but how you recover from it.
So true, Robert. Thank you for this wise comment. I’m going to keep it in mind.
The sharpness of that photo is outstanding, Mr. Bowie’s displeasure notwithstanding.
Thank you, Julie. I was leaning on the piano bench and holding my breath while taking this photograph.
follow back?
😀 Your photo makes me smile Mr Bowie because it’s like one of those fine portraits of a royal cat from the 15th century or something. Your purring would be music to my ears xo ❤
Wow! Thank you so much, Boomdee! Mr. Bowie says “Meow!”
At least it was just one wrong note.
Thank goodness! Just imagine if I played a wrong song…
Fully agreed on all points. Very important that space between the toes, and between the notes.
Thank goodness Mr. Bowie is a good student… 😉
You have quite a music critic there. I bet he would always give good advice.
Oh yes… He’s always the first one to hear my new musical creations… 😉
Wonderful Portrait of Mr Bowie!
Thank you, Timothy! It was easier to take the picture than playing that difficult jazz chord…
There is no wrong note in that wonderful portrait of Mr. Bowie. I think your photography has caused him to hold you to a high standard in all things, Herman. But only he is perfect.
Thank you, Angela. It’s a real pleasure taking photographs of a cat like Mr. Bowie… Even after playing a wrong note… 😉
Mr. Bowie is very handsome. Please visit us for a giveaway.
Thank you!
Classic! He doesnt look happy ! How good iis Miles Davis?
No…!! I should play the Miles Davis cd ‘Kind of Blue’, just to cheer Mr. Bowie up…
😃
That’s an amazing photo! It almost looks like he enjoyed the false note – perhaps he likes experimental music.
Well… if that’s true he’s going to have a great time because I’m into that stuff right now.
Byrne, Eno, Herman, Mr. Bowie….
Oh yes, Letizia… I’m in good company! Thank you!
Right now I love the soundtrack of the movie ‘Gone Girl’, written & performed by Trent Reznor (NIN) & Atticus Ross. Very soft relaxing and electronic music.
In our house when a cat gives you “that look” we call it stinkface. They can be such wonderful critics … about everything.
Oh yes, I’m always laughing when Mr. Bowie gives me that look…
‘Stinkface’… love that word! Going to use that…
Poor little Bowie! ❤️
Thank you, Shrimp! Mr. Bowie says “Meow!”
*((trills))*
LOL, perhaps Mr. Bowie’s in a “fugue” state of mind, haha. 🙂
Ha ha ha… Right! Love your comment! 🙂
Our Abby cat hates the sound of a harmonica. She meows, fusses, and waves her feet. They love the old Ventura 12 string guitar though 🙂
Mr. Bowie always meows when I’m using high notes in a sequencer loop. Most of the synth sounds are no problem. When I’m playing piano he joins me, I guess he likes the piano sounds…
Oh, my gosh, what a fabulous photo! 😀
Thank you, SHG!
That is an amazing expression.:-D
That’s what you get if you play a wrong note on the keyboard… 😉
Cuddly shot.
Thank you, Kath!
hmmmm… my cats give me a similar look when I sing to them.
Well, Lori, can you afford a voice coach? 😉
Someday…
What a wonderful photo! 🙂 Ellie
Thank you, Ellie! Mr. Bowie says “Meow!”
Mr. Bowie that is quite the look 🙂
Thank you, Marty! Mr. Bowie says “Meow!”
you need to tune in with Mr. Bowie and play the “catnip song” I am sure he will meow along with your piano
You’re right, I’m going to give it a try… 😉
Is Mr. Bowie a jazz fan? He seems like my type of cool cat. 🐱
Hi there, my new friend! Welcome on HoB! Thank you for following the blog. Mr. Bowie says “Meow!”
I think you are so right… Mr. Bowie is definitely a cool cat, a very cool cat! 🙂
I am really enjoying your blog! 🙂
Thank you so much!
I freely confess to loving cats, and have been delighted to meet you and Mr Bowie.
He seems a very true to form, true to himself, total cat and his expressions and explorations are splendid to see.
Thanks.
