Boys Keep Swinging

“I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it.” – Pablo Picasso

Boys always work it out. The recording studio is almost up and running. I’m experiencing some minor issues regarding the communication between a MIDI interface and the synthesizers. A MIDI setup is the physical connection between all the MIDI devices and the computer. A typical setup consists of a MIDI interface, a computer, and the actual MIDI equipment such as keyboards, sound modules and synthesizers. I’m working to find fixes for the problems. Meanwhile, Mr. Bowie is passionate, excited and eager to learn to play the synthesizer…

  1. He is seriously studying the whole situation… looks and sounds very complicated, but you will figure it out. Then Mr. Bowie will make wonderful music. Well, yea, you too…………… 🙂 Have a good weekend.

      • Oh man! That’s serious stuff if you have to “read the manuals!” Good luck. You might be able to find some good ideas how to make things communicate on Youtube.

I once changed a headlamp bulb in my Mazda 5. What does it take to change a stinking lightbulb? Well 3 hours and a couple of very helpful Youtube videos later, I managed to get it changed. There was nothing in the manual about changing the headlamp bulb other than take it for service and have a tech change the bulb. Then the headlamp went out on my Mazda RX-8, I looked up first thing how to change it, the answer was take it to service, because you have to remove the fender to get to the headlamp to replace the bulb. This has nothing to do with MIDI connections other than to say Youtube often has useful videos.

        • Changing a headlamp bulb of a car?!? No can do! I tried this one time, never again…

Already found some interesting and useful clips on YouTube about MIDI communication (and other stuff). Thanks for reminding me, Timothy!

          • It’s funny that we both tried to change headlamp bulbs. The days of do it yourself auto mechanics is pretty well gone. Good to hear you are finding helpful info on the MIDI front.

  2. You are to cool for school Herman! I love your passion for it all. It’d be awesome to have a bit of Mr Bowie on a track. Kitty’s on the scratching post could sound like a rasp 😀 Get that kitty an Agent! (snicker) I always thought it’d be so cool to play tambourine, like Michelle Phillips in Mamas and The Papas, LOL

  3. MAYBE MR. B COULD HELP YOU GET THINGS SET UP AS WELL. IT ALL SOUNDS SUPER CONFUSING TO US! GOOD LUCK. Hope to see you Sunday for our selfies blog hop. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  4. Very exciting Herman. I’m sure Mr. Bowie will be a big help in creating some great music. He looks fascinated with the keyboard.
