The Weight

“Hey, mister, can you tell me, where a cat might find a bed?”
I just need some place where I can lay my head.

“The Weight” – The Band

My soul feels crushed. Sometimes I’m very tired from the weight of the world, and I want to rest. I’m just going to lay down now. Good night, and good luck.

  1. You don’t need to explain to us. A cat has got to do what a cat has got to do, and that is more often than not taking a nap. Enjoy, Mr.B. Purrlease consider joining our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop tomorrow. XOCK, Lily Olivia Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  2. Herman I am glad to see you and Mr. Bowie are feeling the sunshine this morning. I was having an evening like that myself last night but cured it with some Coldplay and a big mug of grandpa’s special French Canadian coffee recipe. Strong French roast coffee, pure maple syrup and heavy cream. They took it when they went ice fishing. My Mi Sun like to put her face in the cat bed like Mr. Bowie when she sleeps.

    • Your therapy/prescription sounds very good to me, Angela. Just wondering what that French roast coffee would do to me… 😉
      Hope you feel better too…

  3. One of our favorite songs, from a favorite band, from a favorite (tho difficult) time in life. Glad things have lightened up — coffee is medicine. Must go have some. Bye.

    • Love that song too. I believe I heard ‘The Weight’ the first time in the movie ‘Easy Rider’, if my memory doesn’t fail me. Love the solo albums of Robbie Robertson too, especially ‘Robbie Robertson’ and ‘Storyville’.
Hope you enjoyed your coffee, Bugs…

  4. Oh, and I hope you are feeling better. Yep, a cat helps to make things better…well unless Simon (the King) is tired of me sleeping at 4 am and wants to play 😦 😀 . To better days…. 🙂

    • Thank you! We all feel better now. Thank goodness Mr. Bowie leaves me alone at night… well, most of the time. 😉

  5. A soft little bed time lullaby: The road is long, with many a winding turn. That leads us to who knows where, who knows where. But I’m strong, strong enough to carry you. You ain’t heavy, you’re Mr Bowie.

    • Thank you, Marty! I have to confess: dark chocolate, espressos and treats for Mr. Bowie are a big help too in the morning… 😉
