By My Side

Speed healing. Sometimes you will get the flu β€” a few days of being stuffed up, some aches and pains, maybe a fever. I had to stay in bed for two days straight. There are many ways to help your body heal faster. You could develop superhuman healing power like Wolverine or let your cat keep you company. Thank you, Mr. Bowie, for standing by my side. Can I watch X-Men: Days of Future Past again, please?

  1. I am sorry you were not feeling well Herman. I am glad Mr. Bowie was there for you. With chronic arthritis problems I know the value of a living hot pad for the body and a soothing purr for the soul.

  2. We hope you’re feeling better soon, Herman! So glad Mr Bowie kept you company. P.S. I used to collect comic books – including the X-men, before they became so “famous” (even though they were still the number 1 selling comic in the 1970s and 1980s!). Ellie

  3. So sorry to hear you were sick Herman and I hope you’re all better. A nice warm bed and your big fuzzy cat purring, it doesn’t get any better than that when you’re not feeling well. Thanks for taking care of Herman, Nurse Bowie.

  4. I trust you feel better by now Herman. I used to have a furry friend to perk me up when I was ill. In her later years I hope I returned the comfort she offered me. Mr. Bowie is your treasure and he is a beautiful feline.
    Keep well.

  5. So sorry you haven’t been feeling well. Mix up some lemonade from frozen concentrate, put it in a pot and bring it to a boil. Drink it as hot as you can with some honey stirred in-it’s the best thing.

  6. Dr. Bowie looks like he has everything under control! Hope you are feeling better, Herman. Nothing like having a cat watching over you for comfort when you don’t feel well. Dr. Nano sends Dr. Bowie his regards. πŸ™‚

  7. Sorry you caught a bug Herman. Hope you are getting better. You are right though, the boys do make me feel better when the curl up and give me a good purr. The Girls are sweet too but it isn’t the same as a good kitty purr πŸ™‚

  8. Oh our cats, know so well, when we are not feeling good and they are the best companions while we have stay in bed, curing our illness. My Moshu climbs up on me and caresses me so passionate, that it’s almost too much. Hope you feel better very soon.

  9. Mr. B. looks quite comfy, so we are sure he didn’t mind playing nurse. Hope you are feeling better soon. Our humans ALWAYS get flu shots! XOCK, Lily Olivia Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  10. 20 CC’s of fluffy grey love! STAT! Really glad to hear you’re on the mend my friend and that you could stay home and enjoy Mr Bowie’s delightful bedside manner. Nothing like long rolling purrs to lull you off to sleep.

  11. Glad you’re on the mend; LOVE this photo of Mr. Bowie. My guy Sebastian sits the same way with his front paws stretched out in front. He also tends to have that same look in his eye (like he’s contemplating a mischievous plan… or thinking “again with the camera???)
