The Moment

And then the moment was gone. How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Cherish the little things and hug the ones you love.

PS: Thanks so much everyone for the astonishing birthday wishes. They really mean a lot to me. Mr. Bowie says “Meow!”

  1. Herman, the things you and Mr. Bowie share with us bring smiles and joy and help make life better. How could we do less than wishes for a happy birthday and many more?

  2. Exquisite photo. Love the colors and how you can see Mr. B’s individual furs. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  3. I hope there was lots of chocolate and cat treats! You’re so right about the little things and as you look back, you realize they were the big things.

  4. I ADORE this shot of Mr. Bowie!!!! You are so very right Herman. So many people do not realize how important the moment is. Cherish the moment, take time for the little things. I work in a field in medicine that shows you how fleeting life is and how precious time can be. Always say ‘I love you’. Don’t hold petty grudges. You and Mr. Bowie ALWAYS make me smile and I LOVE that! Thanks!

  5. “Every day is a gift. That’s why it is called ‘The Present’.” I don’t remember where that quote comes from, but it sure is true. Thank you, Mr. Bowie & Herman, for your bright and cheery blog! I look forward to reading every post. Lots of catnip and dark chocolate for both of you!

  6. Life is made up of strings of moments and at a point they begin to pass TOO quickly. I savor each and everyone at my age….and will until there are no more. Birthdays mark the passage of time but they’re also a reminder that you are indeed still HERE!!! Dark chocolate and espresso? Count me in always.

  7. Thanks for the reminder Mr Bowie. We’ve been so busy moving, I think I almost forgot to be excited about it. My new garden is mostly patio with just a wee bit of grass but I hope I can sit there and enjoy it as much as you enjoy yours. Of course, I shall include espresso and dark chocolate for the full H.O.B. experience.
