Facts About July 21, 2013 Part 1

July 21 is the 202nd day of the year in the Gregorian calendar. There are 163 days remaining until the end of the year. I was born on July 21, some say it was on July 22, though. July 21 is also Mr. Bowie’s Gotcha Day.

Fact #1: New King In Town. Belgium celebrated both independence day and the coronation of Prince Philippe and his wife, Mathilde, as king and queen. As I said before, in my opinion this is unsatisfactory. No, I am not a royalist. Not at all. Mr. Bowie was ready for the job. I say, Mr. Bowie for King or President!

Fact #2: Blue Skies. Ideal weather conditions for a guerrilla-surprise-pudding-party! The birthday cake was a surprise gift from my Dad.

Fact #3: Free Tattoo. Every guest got a free Mr. Bowie-Paw-Tattoo, even this young talented football player from FC Barcelona.

Fact #4: 87. Age difference means nothing at a guerrilla-surprise-pudding-party. Who were the oldest and youngest guest? My Dad and Alice, his great-grandchild.

Fact #5: The blonde pillow thief didn’t show up. I wasn’t disappointed because these beautiful and lovely women accepted my invitation.

  1. Herman it looks like you and Mr. Bowie had a grand celebration! Love that cake your Dad gave you and I believe there’s plenty of chocolate around between that cake and the pudding! I love the photos you get of your Dad with adorable Alice – very special. I see lots of smiles so obviously it was a super day for everyone! YAY!

    Pam (and Sam)

    • Thank you Pam! We all had a fantastic day. More facts will follow later this week. And yes, Alice is so adorable…
      PS: The cake was yummy!!

    • Bedankt Wiske!

  2. A guerilla surprise pudding party and a surprise cake; can’t think of a better way to celebrate a birthday and a Gotcha Day. Jolly good the blonde pillow thief stayed away; she might have been tempted to change to a blonde pudding thief.

  3. thank you for sharing it with us. Mr Bowie and a crown do go well together. The px of your Dad and his Great Grandchild is delightful. BUT Oh that cake!!! It looks fab. Thanks Dad. πŸ™‚

  6. Love that little crown for Mr. Bowie! (sorry, I meant King Bowie.) Looks like you all had a wonderful day! The cake decoration is fantastic πŸ™‚

  7. Happy belated Birthday to you both! The party with goodies and friends looked to be purrrrfect. Sorry. I couldn’t help it.

    • Thanks PK! A party in a vacation is always great… I should do it more often and perhaps invite my HoB followers…

  8. Mr. Bowie, please tell your human that you don’t need to be elected king ‘cuz you already are! He should know that by now. πŸ™‚ Looks like it was a grand day to celebrate and you had some mighty good treats to make the day special. How great to be able to celebrate with friends and family. Keep right on celebrating ‘cuz that’s what we do!

  13. What a glorious day! I love those banners, will you leave them up? They’d make everyday seem extra special. The blonde pillow thief probably knew she’d be no match for the two lovelies so she wisely decided to not crash the pudding party. Your dad must have had an awesome time too, such a fab cake with Mr Bowie on there, even the icing looks yummy and I usually scrape that off. Cheers to you both!

    • Hey Boomdee, wish you were here! Yep, I’ll leave those banners up, they give me a special feeling each day (and I’m home for the next 10 days…).
It was a little bit to hot for my Dad and he didn’t stay for a long time. But he enjoyed himself. He took an extra piece of that cake and coffee pudding to his (cool) apartment.

  14. How wonderful. I want a a guerrilla-surprise-pudding-party too! Love, love, love the cake. Come to think of it, I never got a birthday cake this year. I had a great birthday, but not cake. Sadness.

And yes, Mr. Bowie for King/President!
