Jazz it up! One of my best friends is a graphic designer. He gave me a quick demo of Adobe Lightroom 4 using a photo of Mr. Bowie. He said you can do more with your photos than you ever thought possible.
The original Mr. Bowie
Mr. Bowie in the Lightroom
Don’t ask me what the graphic designer did. Due to lack of sleep and chocolate I didn’t pay attention to the monitor.
I prefer the original, but it’s fun to play with effects.
I don’t have the patience to play with editing software. I should look up some instructional videos on YouTube. My friend showed me some about Lightroom.
If you want to do great effects with minimal effort, try OnOne Software’s Perfect Effects. They also have a full suite of useful image preparation and manipulation software.
Going to check it out, thanks!
Picasa is free, has some effects. If that isn’t enough, you can go from there.
Hey there, welcome Oldcat! Thanks for the information!
I agree! I get frustrated with the copyright messaging let alone effects. Notice that 99.9% of the photos on my blog don’t have the special copyright insignia. I gave up…
I fully agree with you Aimee… I’m always forgetting where all the special editing tricks are in the menu…
I would get Photoshop if I could afford it! it’s fun to play like that.
Over here, the price of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 is 118 euro.
I’ll have to compare but for a toy it is still pricey for me….
PS: I am working on Mr.B. ‘s girlfriend…
You can do a lot of processing and great photo manipulation with Adobe Elements for a very reasonable price. Lightroom 4 is reasonably priced as well.
Looking forward to that girlfriend… 😉
But, I hope you fixed the lack of chocolate problem.
Going to the shop tomorrow! I’ll think about the photo editing later…
Yes, chocolate is way more important!
Im voting for the original.
I like the second one. Mr. Bowie looks a bit mysterious on that one…
Thats certainly true – in the second one he does look mysterious, like a cat on a secret mission. 🙂
He looks equally handsome in both photos. 🙂
I guess Mr. Bowie will always look handsome… 😉
Both are great images but only one is the true Bowie experience! If Lightroom could make Mr B warmer then it would be miraculous.
It also would be great if Lightroom could change winter into summer!
Lovely bright eyes! Is Mr Bowie a super model?
Well, some HoB followers say he is a super model!
I like the first one, but like you said, it’s fun to play. I’ve found a few free online editing sites that I can mimic Instagram so that’s how I play with photos. 🙂
I always try to keep the editing to a minimum, but it’s fun playing with some effects…
I like the first one better too but of course Mr. Bowie is gorgeous at all times.
Thanks, Bowie says “Meow!”
Oh yes, looks all antiqued…I love antiques 😉
The lack of chocolate can be explained. Your friend merely coated your monitor with it which is why Mr Bowie in the Lightroom looks deliciously chocolatey. Or perhaps he used a combination of chocolate and coffee.
Fact: my friend ate all the chocolate. I have to go shopping…
Oooh!! Lightroom 4…we are jealous 🙂 Can’t wait to see Bowie as you learn all about it!
I love it! But it looks a bit difficult though…
I like your photo best. Mr Bowie doesn’t need special effects. He is scumdiddlyumptious just the way he is. I mean REALLY!
Thanks. You should see Mr. Bowie in real life…!!
I like to go with original.
Bovenste 1 , tweede 2 !
I like both of these…for different reasons…they have a very different “feel”. My digital came with some good photo editing software which I enjoy playing with from time to time……Bowie simply looks magnificent no matter HOW his photos are shown. Nice to have the perfect subject matter!
Pam
I know, I’m very lucky with my little friend. Thank you Pam.
Lightroom is great, even if you don’t use many effects… just for making your colors brighter, your white and blacks stronger, and the whole photo crisper.
Oh yes, I’ve been playing with Lightroom the last 3 days and I like it a lot. I’m going to check out some instructional videos…
Sexayyyyy
Snap out of it girl! 🙂
Hahahaha! This is the first time I’m falling in love with a cat, can’t help it!
Mr. Bowie, you handsome devil. No wonder you have so many admirers
Ha ha ha… Do you really think so Jay?
I do think so
