Message From My Cat #9

Gotcha! Patience is waiting. Not passively waiting. That is laziness. But to keep trying to catch that mouse when the trying is hard and slow – that is patience.

Ladies and gentlemen, I got him! It’s a shame my dad wasn’t around to take a photograph when I was going for the kill.

Editor’s Note: Dear Mr. Bowie, may I congratulate you on your first wildlife catch. But did you have to kill that poor little thing? If you love something, set it free.

  1. Sam was totally impressed! He, however, has practiced “catch and release” all these years (although a couple of times it was “catch and injure it severely enough that there’s no way it lived through the day”). Bowie is doing a fine job of protecting his humans and their home from mouse invasion. He must have read “How To Be A Cat 101″…………..

    Pam (with Sam’s approval)

  2. Quite the gift from Bowie! Good thing he did not deliver straight to inside the house! So the question about entertainment – what will he chase next?

    • A good point there… I’ll keep my door closed when Bowie is chasing a mouse (or something else…).

  3. Glogirly had a mouse fiasco too. There was a scary prosecution where Katie got blamed. I think it all worked out in the end, but, really, Bowie — death? You open that can of worms and there’s just no telling what’ll happen next . . . . if the authorities get involved, you could regret this. Think again next time, OK?

  4. Hi there Bowie, I was sent over from Rumpy to see how you deal with the mouse problem over your way! It seems you are more successful than me. Regards Austin the Tux >^..^<

    • Hey there Austin, welcome on HoB! Just checked your ‘Extreme Sports!’ post. Loved it!
Never underestimate a mouse… See you!

  5. Dear Mr. Bowie, I am torn. On one paw, I would like to congratulate you for your recent hunting success. On another paw, I’m a little grossed out by Mr. Mousie. And on a third paw, I’m saddened by the senseless violence. In future, I would suggest hunting for subsistance purposes only. If you don’t need it as food, you don’t need to kill it is my motto… Perhaps you could get a human to cook your next mousie, as that one doesn’t look very appetizing. Happy hunting, as needed.

    • My dear friend Pedro, you got a point with your third paw… my motto is ‘live and let live’. I even leave the spiders alone in my house. But those boring mosquitoes at night are another story…

Cooking a mousie… no can do my friend!
