Lizards & Squirrels

Fun Times on Route 66! I received a beautiful postcard from my favorite niece. She’s spending her vacation in the U.S. of A. – cruisin’ parts of Route 66. She didn’t see a British Shorthair cat, only lizards and squirrels. So where are you, relatives of Mr. Bowie?

Pteromerhanophobia. Fear of flying. I only travel by car, train, boat or on foot. The Honorable Mr. Bowie travels with a rickshaw or a dogcart. So there goes my Route 66 dream.

    • Wait a minute… A British Shorthair is a cuddly, smiling ‘teddy bear’ cat! Okay, some say it is the bulldog of the cat world.

  1. Guess what….we live about an hour outside of Washington, DC in Virginia right off Route 66! I have to admit – we’ve never seen a British Shorthair before except at a Cat Show, but can’t imagine WHY NOT because we think Bowie is totally adorable (or should we say “handsome”??).

    • Wow… Route 66!
We live about an hour outside of Brussels. This really doesn’t sound that adventurous… 😉

PS: Okay, there’s the Brussels waffle…

        • A yummy adventure it is… We got a number of different types of waffle, including the Brussels waffle, the Liège waffle, the chocolate waffle and the stroopwafel. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to buy me some waffles…

  2. Hey Bowie, wij hebben ook een keimooie “postcard” met een blitse “car” op van ons Ilse gehad, dat was deugddoend om te vinden in onze “mailbox”!

  3. I’ve only seen British Shorthairs in magazines or the internet. We live in northern Rhode Island, about two-three miles from the Massachusetts line.

    • The British Shorthair is one of the most popular breed of cats in Belgium. Most owners keep their British Shorthair cats as indoor-only cats unless within a safe enclosed outdoor area. Bowie is lucky, he can roam around free in the yard.

  4. You can even see where we live, in the map — drop straight down under Joplin and here we are! Are you sure you can’t come? A boat would work — would Bowie be OK if you put him in a rickshaw on the boat? Like they say — get your kicks on Route 66!
